Now, I'm not looking for Trolls saying it will, l want to know who ACTUALLY WANTS it.
For the record, I say no.
EDIT: Apparently, my rules aren't obvious enough. I don't want posts of "they're already doing that," or "this game will go F2P in a few months," or "they shouldn't have MT's in a subscription based game." That's all over the forums already. I just want to know the answer to the simple yes or no question of:
But I could do without having BOTH at the same time too. Pay to play AND microtransactions. Which is what we have now, and will be getting more of in the future.
But personally, I doubt the legitimacy of actually charging a monthly fee with this game as it has so little content.
since we already payed for the game it doesnt matter what we want now. f2p sucks anyway, in the end you pay more then you would do for a regular sub based mmo. take runes of magic for example.
and they better add some more character slots for everybody. why doesnt hitting admiral unlock you another character slot for example ( capped at 10 ).
greed sucks... you can bash WoW like you want, at least there you know what you get for your sub fee.
That guy is trolling you hard, jedi. He doesn't give a flying funk how any poll will turn out. All he wants is to keep you responding to his inane posts till the world ends.

Yeah, but I'm having fun with that. However, I don't know if people noticed in there, but I've been trying very, very hard to post provable, factual info. I posted that an F2P model for STO was unpopular at best, and I'm just checking to make sure, the easiest way I know how.
No way. You'll pay more for those awesome items just to stay ahead than you ever would with a monthly subscription.
Yea very likely. Which is why the F2P model is kind of like a carnival. See, you pay for points. Its hard to tell exactly how much money a single point is worth, and you buy a bit in excess without trying.
And then you spend lots of points on little things that add up to lots of cash.
This is WHY companies like Microsoft, and such, use points. They dont actually have the dollar amount listed. Its just points. Why not just list the dollar amount for the items? Because its easier to just nickle and dime with points that are harder to identify than actual cash.
Which is just a sleazy tactic all around. Its a carnival.
But whether STO goes F2P or not, they still use the method. But then again so do a lot of other companies. Nickle and dime, nickle and dime.
Honestly this is what I will do to my disk if it goes F2P one thing I hate about free to plays is the fact that you get to a point where you have to spend money to be competitive. my example is gunz it's a fun game, but as you up in the higher levels you learn that all the good stuff has to be bought. sure you can play it for free, but you will never be able to be on the same level as people with the green to burn.
this would be the one thing that mite make me leave the game. ( I say mite because it's star trek )
Edit that was my 3rd random video of the do so I'm all to bed.. night all.
I just left a Real Cash Economy (RCE) MMO. No thank you.
Don't want it. I'd rather pay my $15 a month and play without having to worry about no longer being able to play because I've used up all my money that month.
Definatly NO...read below if you want to know why i feel this way
I've never played an MMo that has been F2P, most MMO's that start as sub based and go this way are failing and using it as a last attempt...RF online for example, i played this in beta and left after 1 week, 1 yr on and it was F2P.
There are several GOOD reasons why it is a bad idea...
1) As a lifer i would want a refund of the difference between the months i played and the life cost.
2) F2P MMO's tend to have a lot more children playing and along with it comes the imaturity that makes social interaction horendous
3) on the other hand a new breed of player seems to emerge...obnoxious, boastful the ones with the credit card who want to slap you in the face with it because they think wasting their money on virtual goods to look good is better than moving out of their mothers house
4) Players who either cant aford or do not wish to waste money on virtual goods can never progress at the same rate and do not enjoy the game
5) The developers spend more time on developing attractive item based products than actual game content
6) I would have to converscate my bf's credit card and lock it away so that he didnt buy out the C-Store...and that just wouldnt be good for our relationship :P
I'm sure there are many many more...
I'd like to hope STO is a bit more serious than most MMO, i hope we never get offered pink TuTu's for example in the C-store! I really don't think the game would benefit from the type of player that F2P attracts.

Only because that person claimed that there are tons of people that want it. I'm trying to find out if that's actually true.
Hey, thanks for actually reading the post! Way to go!

Not really what I meant.
Do you want STO to be a subscription-based game, or do you want it to be F2P, right now, till the end of time?
To keep it simple F2P and di you ever read those 2 insanely long things i PM'd you on lol
Watch your cornhole, Peter!
