It's alright. Neither the best, nor the worst CE I have seen.
The art book is decent, but not meaty. The one in the CE for Warcraft III was much nicer. The pin is a cute little decoration. The in-game uniforms are done fairly well, and I am pleased with them. If I actually had a decent number of costume slots, I'd love to use them for a bit of anachronism.
Really, the in-game benefits of the CE are much better done than the physical items. Since the in-game items will probably be on the C-Store eventually anyway, I'm not sure I'd recommend picking up the CE as a second copy of the game. It's a fair chunk of change for what you get.

Thank you very much for the reply.
You helped me make my decision and just save the money.
Well im getting interested in the ingame items also....
I have a lifetime so on the other end Im wondering if its worth it.
Im such a trekker I may get suckered into this.
I just dont know I can think of alot of other things to buy other than another CE when I have the game already.
My logic say save it for investment instead.
Uh its hard choice. My responsible side say buy stock now for later.
MY star trek side says "Lock phasers on target.....;locking phasers...........FFFFFIIIIIIIIIIRRRRREEEE!"
How much trekkier can you get ??
Now you say "neat metal box".
Shouldn't my next line be:
"DDDDDDAAAAMMMMNNNN YOOOOU!"
The box is not metal it is cardboard with some fancy metal looking paper on it but it does have a magnetic flap that lets the game box take alot less wear and tear from opening/closing it. Sad I know. I was so bummed when I got mine cuz the box does look like metal and thats what I thought it was until I put my hands on it. Props to the guy that designed the covering it looks just like metal even up close.
OP the colector's edition comes with alot of cool things in game like the red matter capacitor (which is alot more useful than it appears). My personal favorite is the DS9 and TNG uniforms because they are just iconic and any true trek fan would love them. Dont buy it if you dont plan on collecting cuz honestly the perks arent worth it but the chance that later on down the line there could be a chance it will be worth more than you payed for it is it's biggest selling point.
