For anyone who set up their account any time from release until the grace period ended, everyone should have the same bill date in March. That is, March 9th. Why is it that I have to pay for more days that some other people don't have to pay for? I pre-ordered, same as them. I even paid for the Colletor's edition ... same as them.
The only difference is that I was HONEST and put in my code when I got my copy, instead of working Cryptic for extra time.
Cryptic, do the right thing. No billing before one month after the grace period ended. Treat all of your customers equally... or be prepared for the consequences. This is a matter of principle. Either you are a company that takes care of your customers, or you are just looking to get the most money possible, and have no ethics whatsoever in the pursuit of that.
From your history, i know what I'm expecting ... but I'm hoping you will behave properly instead. We'll see.

So you're assuming everyone who didn't put their key in the same day as you was dishonest and waited to get more free time. For a lot of people they were waiting for their game copy to arrive and put in the key as soon as they got the box so they got pre-order items
I see what you're getting at, but yelling thief! at everyone who's game copy arrived later than your's isn't the best way to phrase it
Did Cryptic ask anywhere that we put in the code as soon as we receive the game? If not, its hardly dishonest not to, more like sensible. Either way the difference can't be massive due to the limit period you get free anyway, surely..?
It's just the principle. Arbitrarily giving a bonus to some customers and not others comes across to me as overtly greedy. If they behave the same way in every instance where they have a chance to make a few bucks a few days sooner ... in other words if they continue to only try and get money ... the consequences will be that many people will leave. Nobody likes to be treated like an ATM.
For example ... what if they released re-specs to the store, but waited six months to put a way to earn them in game? That would be a pretty blatant money grab wouldn't it? The bottom line is that companies have a philosophy about their customers. Either Cryptic doesn't seem to have one, or their philosophy seems to be that we exist to give them money.
Take a company like Blizzard, who early on decided their philosophy was to deliver the best product possible to their customers, no matter the cost or time involved. Time and again they postpone their payday in order to assure that they provide their customer with the best. Their long track record speaks for itself.
As does Cryptic's short one.
This is only one small example. How about the lifetime subscribers to Champion's Online, who watched the deal that Cryptic made with them get changed after the fact several times, all the while Cryptic employee's locked threads and pretended that the deal ALWAYS said what it did on that particular day. It was like something out of 1984 going on. Most of them didn't even get beta access to the game until after the fileplanet people did ... and some CO lifetime subs NEVER got the promised beta access... they've lost half the things they were promised when they were enticed to spend hundreds of dollars.
This is a shady company. If you don't see that ... I hope for your sake you don't get suckered like so many others ... but they are shady. I'm calling for them to try and do a small thing to begin building trust with their customer base. You act honorably by choosing to act honorably in every decision, small or large. If a company makes it their philosophy to treat their customers as the most important thing to them ... the final result of that is on display in Irvine.
Blizzard has made many other games than World of Warcraft. It doesn't have to be the elephant in every room. STO has had a fantastic start ... they actually had more customers than their hardware could handle ... which is really awesome ... for those of us who enjoy Star Trek ... but now they need to keep customers. And that is something you do by making a commitment to your customers in every decision.
I made your post better by editing out all the words that you didn't feel strongly enough about to put in all caps.
However, Cryptic did say that your free 30 days began when you put the retail code in. You chose to put your retail code in when you got your box. You received your unique items at approximately that time.
Your 30 days began.
Some people chose not to do that. They also probably didn't get their items until they entered the retail code.
Where is the problem?
I get things that other people don't all the time. I've been with my mobile company for so many years, they give me a 20% discount on my bill just because I signed up on a certain date. If I had signed up after that date, I wouldn't get it.
Comments
If this was true, then I would be billed on March 2nd. My bill date is March 6th, because I entered my product key on February 6th.
Thanks for playing though.
That line scared the s*** out of me.
so i dunno if your out your dollar or not, but you can have the change in my car if it'll make you feel better.

Nuff said ... trolls have at it.

What principle is that? There's no principle here. Just a bunch of QQ.
whine whine whine
A few days makes little difference.
