Uhm....
Because mining in EVE is sooo boring that one must come here to create drama?
Nope because i find Mining in EVE more FUN than playing this TRIBBLE game.... that i paid 80bucks for!
A sandbox game vs a themepark game that is missing rides. Can't really compare the two. You like what you like and that won't change. Personally I can't stand EVE and am having fun at the moment in STO. Even with the lack of rides.

As broken as certain aspects of STO are: EVE has a way clunkier interface.

Only reason I'm not playing EVE right now is I absolutely hate the way you get XP in that game. I can understand why they did it, but... I like to actually, ummm... be rewarded for doing things in game, not just having an active sub.
Because you made up a bunch of expectations, and STO has not lived up to them. You have decided that it is Cryptic's fault for not reading your mind and making the game the way you want.
Seems perfectly reasonable to me. Enjoy mining your rocks.

I had no expectations for STO and didnt even know it existed until about a week before release and thought it had to be a pretty awesome game, its Star Trek it will have to be good right? So I got it and boy was I disappointed. I was expecting something at least like SWG was on release, and really fun and immersive game. Instead I got a grind game that is more repetitive and shallow than a korean grind mmo.
Just to add my 2 cents of what the main game killer is for me is the lack of socializing. Maybe SWG just ruined me by being such a social game way back when, but in STO you hardly ever even interact with other players, even when you're grouped no one talks to each other other than "hi" or "thanks", it just doesn't feel like an MMO at all. Sure I see other people running around in stations and I see other peoples ships crawling through sector space but they could be replaced with AI and the game would be exactly the same because where the player interaction is most needed, on planets and in planet systems, it is non existent because all these areas are instanced and it's almost always just yourself in them. Diablo 2 had more player interaction than this game and D2 isn't even a bonified "MMO".
