Nice post Cryptic. Am glad to hear that the level cap will be raised this year and that they will be adding effectiveness to those two captain skills.

Oh no, they didn't specifically say the "larger update" would be free.

    Here we go again...

Who cares if it isn't? A Larger update could be the equivalent of an expansion. Expansion's cost money. Further speculation is irrelevant. It's better to wait and see than to worry about paying for updates.

I was hoping for a huge revamp of the poor skill system, seems they don't seem to think there is a problem at all really. how depressing.

Revamp nope. All they have to do is fix the skills which got screwed because of skill cap. I don't think Cryptic is ever going to revamp the whole skill system.

I rather like the skill system, with percentage increases for the effects of weapons and abilities. The only problem was with those 2 captain skills and they said they would be fixing those.

how about not knowing what most of the skills even *do*? better descriptions and explainations of their effects are needed.

plus, most of them provide very tiny benefits

It's pretty obvious what they do. They could clarify it a little, but it's hardly a gamebreaker. And I don't see 52% gains as a little benefit.

I'm depressed that they won't be changing the more expensive weapons skill points. They actually like us spending 4500 points for antiproton energy weapons.

Other than that, this answered some great questions we have been wondering about from them.

While I appreciate Crpytic giving us a response, it seems like they don't know their own game. The procs from those higher costing weapons are no more exotic than the cheaper ones and I don't think aesthetics should be be determined in their value.

Also, raising the level cap (I hate games that call raising the level cap new content) will not make the skill system less borked. We have no idea what our skills effect (only given a few examples, which is not the entirety of them) or how they effect things. I'd rather they keep the level cap as is and rework the Admiral level to allow us the same amount of skills to be maximized as previous tiers.
