Whenever I take a screenshot, either by the slash command or the print screen button, it shows up in my STO screenshots folder as just an all black, blank picture.
I had to create a screen shot folder and it won't even save screens there. print screen just hits me with a black background as well when copy -pasting to paint or photoshop...
Try typing /screen into chat and look for the popup selector. Gives a variety of options that you can select. Doing the screenshots this way with one of .jpg options seems to be more reliable for getting screenies.
Screen shots are saved in your Users\Public\Cryptic Sudios\Star Trek Online\ Live\Screenshots folder. Not into the clip board. Did you check under your Cryptic folder? I'm using Windows 7 64bit here.
That has been mentioned with identical results earlier, before I upgraded my PC (old 4 year old XP rig) the PrntScrn -> paste function worked just fine.
The Screenshot folder wasn't there and I had to create it on the current install/new computer.
Sorry for the Necro but the problem still persists here on the forums and from players in-game, waiting on a fix, kinda annoyed after purchasing that lifetime sub. Also to those creating new topics for the same problem look up previous posts and post there (here!).
I also tried running it in XP compatibility but not also did it not work sound fx and music cut off.
Hmmm, that's weird. I remember I used to use the PRT/SCR button and pasted it to Paint, and it would be all black. But it would be normal in my STO screen shot folder. I'm running the ATI HD5970 in eyefinity mode, and I get the correct screen shot size (5960x1080 with bezel correction). It even worked when I had a HD4890 card (1920x1080). I'll have to try it on my other computer. It's also running Win7 64bit. But it has integrated graphics. I'll try on that one tomorrow and see what happens. I might even try it on my lap top and see what it does if I can load it up on there.

It won't even save screens anywhere in the ST-O folders.
