    1) If you don't enjoy playing the game, don't play it. Why would you *pay* for a game and then *pay* someone else to play it for you? Seriously.

    2) They may use your account to spam, farm gold, and do all kinds of other nasty things. They all use exploits and tricks and often make the game much less fun for other players. (One example: Pay-for-levelers were exploiting the 'change instance' function to jump from instance to instance looking for ones about to complete. This increased server load and resulted in the feature being removed, making team play much harder and stranding players in empty instances.)

    3) They are probably paying children something like 60 cents per hour. And I assure you, they are having no fun playing since their job is to level you as quickly as possible. (Virtual sweatshops are as awful as other sweatshops.)

    4) They all spam. Everyone who does business with a spammer encourages more spam.

    5) The whole point of a *game* is that something is valuable to you because you earned it. Having things given to you really does take a lot of the fun out of the game. In STO, leveling is the story. If you have someone else level you, you will miss the game.

    6) There are lots of one-time rewards that they will get for you and then sell. The energy you would have gotten will be sold to someone else. At the end, they will sell your nice gear they used to level you and fill your character with trash items. You will then need to buy energy since you will not have earned it from selling quest rewards.

Read these two articles, then see how good an idea you think it is:

Why do I get private messages on the forums from gold sellers only? I NEVER get any from friends as we dont use this. Its just non stop spam mail that I wish I could just turn it /off

It may not be allowed but its VERY obvious where to get these services and you learn of it from the forum private messages and ingame mail (are they tied together?)

Id rather have ham then spam...
