SUGGESTION: Daily Universal Reset

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
I would like to suggest that Cryptic pick a single time of the day and have all the dailies reset at that time everyday. It works beautifully in WoW (yes, I just said something nice about WoW) and it will work beautifully in STO. The current set up is forcing me to do the daily later each day and soon I will miss a day. Setting a single universal reset time for the current daily and all future dailies that will be added willl afford all of us that are staying and paying to do what we are paying for: playing to get the most bang for our $15 each month.

I would like to recommend 11:59 pm GMT or 12:01 am GMT. Either of these times, I think, would be least likely to inconvience the bulk of STO players.

Also, if you can swing it, see if you can talk Heidi Klum into posing in an STO advertisement as an Orion slave girl. I.........think......it could be.........good. :)

reset timer should be something like 18 hours, instead of the alleged current 24. this way you have some flexibility in when you do the daily each day. if you do ii late you are not forced to do it even later the next day and so on and so forth. you can still do it a little earlier as well.

if it is indeed 24 hour reset, then you are forced to do the daily at the same time each day, or later and later and later until you are forced to skip at least one day to restart the cycle over again.

Someone posted about the 24 hr. timer on daily missions in another thread..a Dev responded that he would look into making sure the timer starts at the acceptence of the mission, and not the end(which is what puts it forward time-wise)

Setting the daily reset to a universally set time will allow all players to know that "Okay, The dailies reset at 12:01 am GMT EVERYDAY, regardless of when during the day I accept or complete them, so, as long as I have them completed EVERYDAY before the next time 12:01 am GMT comes around, it will count. Hell, I can even do a daily at 11:00 pm GMT and then an hour later, do the same daily all over again if I want then not have to worry about doing it again for almost 2 more days. How great is that?"

One universal time for daily reset. For everyone. This is a no brainer.

I love this idea. Daily resets at the same time so I can log in anytime and take the mission on any day.

This makes so much sense there is no chance Cryptic would ever do it.

I hope they add more Daily missions and give us a fixed reset time so that it actually becomes a daily mission rather than a once every 24 hours mission. Yes there is a difference.

Also giving us content that is based on places rather than missions would be a big help.

Dumb question, but what do people mean when they use the phrase "daily"? I am not a WoW guy and the terminolgy escapes me. Which missions are you reffering to?

A mission you can repeat once a day. In STO it's exploration to get Marks of exploration to buy MkX purple gear. Once you finish the couple of admiral missions, that and defend missions are all that exists.

They did this but it makes no diffence and is just a show from Cryptic to try and look like they listen or give a toss.

A set time each day for the reset is a perfect idea (like in WoW) and should have been done from the start, im sick of coming back later and later each day to do the same repetitive daily for no reward as I cant skill up in the reward weapons as it is.. with the time getting later and later..

A set reset time means I can jump in at any time during the day and do the mission as long as its after the reset time.. instead of having to wait till after midnight the next night to do it again.

C'mon cryptic, at least give us this... you give moaners stupid stuff all the time with nerfing CE, Self Destruct, Ramming Speed etc etc yet things that actually "improve" the game continue to get ignored..

    Meh.

Sounds better, although i would change it to 21-23 hours.

This is what I am confused about, as I run the "explore x nebula" missions a few times a day, for the same nebula. Does this change once you get to Admiral?

No there is a special Exploration mission from the same person that gives the normal one. Instead of 5th order badges you get Marks of Exploration.

You can still do the one for badges every 30 mins (I think thats the timer). You can only do the one for marks every 24 hours. (currently 24 hours after you complete it)

Would love a specific time to reset these. Missed my first one last night because of this.
