As many of you know STO is having a lot of trolls and World of Warcraft players causing trouble on STO. Has anyone else notice this besides me.
There are many them giving bad reviews on website for STO, like on Amazon.com. Lets show support and give good reviews instead. Try giving STO Five Stars.
I've been very positive and supportive of this game since I found out about it. And after playing this game a while, "some" of the negative does have it's merits and I'm personally running into enough of the issues where even I am starting to get some negative feelings towards the game and am beginning to regret my lifetime membership purchase.
I am positive and hopeful for future content as well as an improved game, that alone will keep me playing... the hope for better. I think a lot of players were expecting the TV series style Star Trek and not realizing this is a game of an era they haven't seen before, and is probably the main focus of disconnect for this game. For me personally, just a few days ago I attempted to do 3 different missions in three different sectors and all three failed to allow me to complete the mission. That's a lot of time spent on missions that I'm going to have to do all over again due to bugs. That's not complaining, that's a provider service issue, and I suspect that's one of the major issues that people are complaining about at the moment.
But like many others, I understand the game is new and there's going to be bugs found and issues to work around. The answer can't always just be patience, or a lack of response. At this moment, customer support seems distant and unresponsive with poor communication to we the customers. I think a frequently updated known bugs issue would be a great bridge to letting us know that have acknowledged the issues and are working on it. No response or comments just makes you wonder if they even know about it amoungst the nearly 3/4 of a million bug reports submitted so far in the first month of release.
So yes, I do believe some positive news from an entity other than Cryptic's own PR force would be nice but I don't think I can completely dismiss the negativity as not accurate comments about the game, even if the manner in which some users express themselves is less than constructive.
Why would I give it 5 stars? Its not a 5 star game... Do you really think that this game deserves high reviews if no many people are unhappy with it? Look at reviews for other games, WoW, Eve, EQ, etc. Those games are at least well-rounded. Thre will always be detractors, but if there is a problem with too many negative reviews, maybe the game does have problems.
I am not a troll, I am a person that wants to voice my opinion in the hope that Cryptic will listen.

While I appreciate what you're saying and definitely applaud your intent, I think you might have more success just hanging in there with the forums here and giving great feedback and discussion about how wonderful the game is right here in STO's own backyard. Help build the community from within, and make it strong and positive that way. And don't let reviews on sites like Amazon even put a dent in your optimisim.
At least that's my take. I think going to other sites just opens you up for more of that classic internet grief. But sticking to building the community right here would achieve a similar goal and you might find many more like-minded people to help you.
Just a thought. Like I said, I appreciate where you're coming from.
People are entitled to their opinions negative or not. And judging from the fact that STO has sold something like a million boxes... well that gives them a very very GENEROUS pool of people from which to receive feedback. If people are posting negatively, so be it. Truth of the matter is... if this game WERE in fact great... and I mean objectively great (in that... its not only great to you, but universally great to many people) then it would be more than likely that STO would be getting really great reviews instead of poor ones.
As it stands, the gaming industry in general is largely disappointed with how STO turned out.
I mean, let's be realistic here... the highest profile gaming sites are saying the same thing about STO, and by and large the people who post comments for the reviews generally agree. If the masses of gamers generally liked STO, you'd think that they would be posting en masse saying they disagree with the reviewers. But they dont

WoW players have also taken over game review sites such as Gamespot, IGN, and even Metacritic. In order to counter this incursion of WoW players, we should start up our own game review site that only gives good reviews of this video game.

I agree with you all that game has some weak points. Maybe Cryptic should have waited longer before releasing it. I have say I'm still having fun with it and I hope to see the evolution of the game. The problem with haters or trolls. They shout louder than the people who like it. Lot of people are still playing the game and bought it. I just think we need to get out and defend it more. STO is in its infancy stage and it will grow. I don't want to see this game to fail.
To the couple of Trolls on here, why are you playing the game and on the forums still? Don't you have better things to do?
Great_Milenko pointed out something to me that I did not think about. So I took the link down.
A lot of people didn't want to see this game fail. I was one of them so you are not alone. I believe it is safe to say that anyone who bought this game did not want to see it fail.
I don't think it serves either far-side, and yes there are clearly sides (1.) Cryptic 2.) The People Versus Cryptic) to distort either way...
Cryptic - over-sold the game, considerably...They played the hype-pipe to the hilt, and their marketing department should be grounded to their rooms , and the management of the *designers* (not developers) should be compelled to play MMO's for three years to figure out what it is that they are designing...
The People Versus Cryptic - Are by-and-large irrational bullies that get-off on the notion that they have the power to make others as miserable as they are.... There are numerous legitimate and worthy critics out there whose very *good points* have been drowned in the ocean of fervor expelled by bullying nutjobs who need a life...
Cryptic needs to address a lot of issues... and should probably own up to a C-grade game design, and The People Versus Cryptic should probably go find a game they like and / or maybe get a hobby... Stat....
I too jumped when the game was announced...then bought CO as an intro to Cryptic. They screwed up CO and they screwed up STO. I am glad I bought a 1 year subby though, I'll be able to pop in and out over the coming year and be able to determine whether this game is going the same way CO did...off my hard-drive...and I don't want that to happen.
I am extremely dissappointed in Cryptic, it seems since the devs that brought us CoX went off with NCSoft so did Cryptic's brains and heart for gaming. From Open Beta through Head Start and into Launch there were major server issues, broken content issues - things that should have been rectified before launch. I would happily have continued OB testing with a larger pool of players than get rushed into playing as I feel it was.
This may change in the future IF and only if Cryptic put some serious work into this game.
Unfortunately they already have my money and there is no way I can get it back otherwise the choice would already have been made.
And yet the servers are still up, the patches are still coming out and the DSEs are still packed full of players pwning Borg.
Anything can fail when you set the bar in high orbit.
The fandom is strong in this one. All his posts are disagreements with anyone critical of anything about the game.
I disagree about the deep space encounters being packed. I log on at various points during the day and typically there are only two instances going at the same time. This game is in the process of dying folks, if you can't see that then I think you're blind.
The numbers of both Fed and Klingons in the PvP queue at Admiral level are dropping off, last week it was 150+ people queued, now, 70 is an average. I've even seen it go as low as 40. And that's not even mentioning how three weeks ago the queue was full of General level Klingons, now you'll be lucky to see even 3.
The forums are also dying down. Where once there were many threads all vying for page one status now the threads on page one stay there for days.
Sector chat is also less talkative.
Even the gold farmers are spamming less. And that's not because they are getting banned, as these people are professionals and run many different accounts.
People are leaving, and when I see this I know the game is in for hard times. The game deserves a 6/10. Everyone knows it but the fanbois.
I haven't posted any review as of yet... and Cryptic would not want me to either.... you cant call everyone that posts bad reviews trolls.. Expecially when there review is true wether you like it or not....

Thanks for the link I gave it 2 stars, exactly what it deserves.

This game HARDLY deserves 2 stars. It would deserve the 2 if it was sold for EUR 14,90 and no monthly fee.

pwned.
/10 chars and all that.
I rated STO one star. Just doing my part to help out people who are thinking about spending their money on this game.

You still mention Amazon.com in the OP.
It already did.
And yes, I AM a hater. I got ripped off. Payed EUR 59,90 for... this.
