Important detail on Fleet Bank missing from release notes

Seems the devs forgot to mention that the Feb 18th patch changed the way the fleet bank worked such that the # set for the limit on tabs is no longer the energy value of the items, but the NUMBER of items that could be taken.

i.e. we had the entry level limit set to 1000 so that a new member could only take a couple items total value less than 1000 per day, which suddenly became OK for that same user to take 1000 items of any value.

THANKS A PANTLOAD Cryptic. Maybe you should mention these changes in the release notes, in the forums, with an in-game message, documentation (ha) or something on the actual bank tab when you make a significant change to the rules overnight.

Posting this mostly so other fleets don't get burned. Also, Edit: No Naming and Shaming Please ~Dionaea

Not only is it TRIBBLE that Cryptic opened the fleet banks open to thievery making this change & not telling anyone, but it's a TRIBBLE system. There is a LOAD of difference between letting a grunt take out $1000 worth of stuff a day and letting him take only 1 item, would could very well be highest-level thing in the bank.

This wouldn't be a big deal if buying a second tab didn't cost over $1.2 MILLION - what a load of TRIBBLE.

The mods will be in shortly to edit you as telling ppl the names of thieves is bad

Its also TRIBBLE that naming the thieves is against the rules

Well, "shortly" in Crypic time - maybe within the week. The spped in which they're trying to patch these problems are causing them to get sloppy... like there's some junior developer turned manager running the show over there.

While you are more then welcome to discuss the functionality itself, please do not name and shame other players.

    Much thanks,

That's because i could easily make a thread naming you, or anyone else a thief.
It would be to open to abuse.
One bad apple and all that....

Just saying someone is a thief is not good enough. I can say that anyone is a thief. Where is the proof, screenshots of logs, log files, etc........ anyways, that stuff doesn't belong on this site. There are plenty of other sites that are more apt to handle that.

Yes, much better to let the thieves get away with being thieves.

No the reason they do not allow it is, there is no way you can prove that they stole. Granted they should not change fleet permissions liek that with out first warning the community, but if they cleaned out your bank of 1000EC vlaued items, you really didn't lose a big amount. Again there are community sites for this. This forum should not turn into a who accused who of whhat mess.

Yet, like I said, it looks like the mods are sticking up for the thieves when they do that. IMO thats a bad thing. But maybe thats just me

I see it merely as them trying to keep this place in order. Not trying to pick an arguement wiht you either, so if I sound that way, it is not my intent.

I am surprised at how long it is taken for them to bring some mod hammers to the board. I myself have made some posts that should never have been made, and am now trying tostay constructive as there is a time and place for it. This site should not be the place for it.

I filed a complaint with Cryptic about the thief, but I haven't gotten any response. I don't care if they take the name out, it doesn't bring our stuff back either way.

I'm just bringing attention to this undocumented change to help other fleets out.

That's the issue right there.. I had it set to the energy credit limit, and the patch changed the rules so that:

On February 17th, 1000 meant 1000 energy credits worth of stuff

On February 18th, 1000 meant 1000 items regardless of value

The release notes didn't mention the change, so my fleet got burned. I think Cryptic should do a better job bringing attention to significant rule changes like this in the future.

Oh I agree. The mods need to start enforcing their own rules. And honestly, Id LIKE to see them do it. One day, just start enforcing the posted rules. But I dont think thats gonna happen now

The abuser's name is irrelevant.. just don't want it to happen to someone else.. the bank was set up one way for weeks, then changed overnight with no documentation of the change.
