since everyone that quits feels like sharing it, I felt like sharing the fact I'm not quitting! I got lifetime subscription and I am very happy of it, for now the game doesn't satisfy me that much, but cryptic is known for listen to the community and improve their games, thus, I got hopes up for STO it's gonna be the eve killer! :D lotro sucked at launch badly too, and I took anyway lifetime subscription.. now I got a great game for free, this will be my second great game for free =)
anyone else not quitting? by the way if you feel stressed about missions and stuff go to risa for a vacation it's fun!

    I am soooo not quitting.
In fact, I'm gonna rage subscribe when my 30 days is up!!!
    :p

On a more serious note, I'm enjoying the game, and at the end of the day, that is all that matters to me.
And if that's all it takes to be labled a fanboy, then I'll happily wear that title

Though there are problems with STO and Cryptic's performance with CO is very questionable, I too stand here for the duration of both games. I played CoX for 4 years because of the continued development they committed to it. Regardless of the nay-sayers and the outright haters attempts to trash Cryptic's reputation I have confidence in what this company does.

I am no fanboi, I don't blindly support Cryptic. I am actually very critical of them. So much so, though I play and enjoy STO and CO, I also caution people against playing either and cite the many inadequacies both MMORPGs posses. I tell them they should perhaps wait or even avoid STO or CO completely because Cryptic MMORPGs are not for everyone.

Still, I firmly believe that Cryptic will do what is right by their customer constituents. They value their player communities and do, far more often than not, operate on good faith. Cryptic does not play nefarious games. They run an honest business.

Plus according to the website they have a fat content update coming, which honestly seems to have a lot of sweet content. Can't wait for that.

I won't quit either, but... I have a problem. You see, I started a Science Captain, and I'm flying Science ships. I've built my Captain with skill points invested in Science skills and it feels good to be able to do the things I'm able to do.

The problem is, I'm a Captain 6, and eventually I'll get to Rear Admiral, and sometime later I may want to roll another character, but for the life of me, I can't really get into flying anything but a Science ship and playing anything but a Science Captain seems so not my style either because, to be honest, I just love debuffing and crowd control! :o

    Any advice?! :(

Uhm the gameplay is so repetitive and boring I could not even get a 2nd ship past t2. I think you are good to go if you got the right class and ship. Sounds like you are all set. :)

If and when I play MMO's, I do it for the satisfaction of finding the most enjoyable (for me, obviously) combination of battle tactics possible in a character. All too often, it's distilled down to Debuffing and Crowd Control. Then, I focus on finding fun-to-play with people and stick with them. This strategy has served me well in CoX and works out nicely in CO. STO seems no different. In my opinion, the whole "content" thing is just a veil designed to make the facts (i.e. we're running/flying around shooting pixels) fun, but I hope that eventually, Cryptic will add more skills/abilities and new ships to each and every tier thus growing the game above and beyond its current state.

You know, eventually, every game can seem boring once you've figured the rules, and games with no rules, or ever-changing rules, may eventually be so antagonistic that people stop playing.

I hope you'll find what entertains you. :)

I'm not very excited about playing Klingons actually. Maybe when they have more PvE-centric content...

Well STO entertained me for about 3 weeks. I would play this game forever if it was done right. I keep hoping they add some substantial content to keep me going, but that being said I can't see myself paying monthly fee's waiting for them to add stuff that should have been here all along. And yes I do understand at some point every game gets boring and repetitive but lets face it I have never come to that point 2 weeks after release in any MMO.

I've been with this game since Closed Beta, and I'm still entertained. I must be easily entertained I guess.

And that's one of the reasons I've gotten myself a lifetime subscription as soon as they were made available. I've been playing Cryptic games for 5 years now and they haven't failed to entertain me.

I've found out already that what a lot of people define as "content", simply does not satisfy my definition of what content should be like. I've yet to see an MMO that would.

Actually, I guess I hold the record in that then. EVE bore me out of my mind before my first hour of my trial period was over! :D

I may quit. I think ill stick around for at least another month to see the 45 day patch. It is refreshing to see some positive feedback for once though. Makes me a little less apprehensive about hoping for some major changes to make this a truly great game.

And hey all the power to you, if this is exactly what you enjoy I am glad for you. But I would also put you in the minority. I would bet money most of the people who are hitting admiral are in the same boat as me, were bored and wondering what is next and where is the product I payed for. You can argue all you want about how MMO's take time and that it might get better it does not change the fact that this game was released before its time and its unfinished. Many will look at this as a scam or ripoff so they could make money right now with a lesser product then wait and make a really great game. By doing it this way they also lose sub's people are quitting left and right and yes while a few hardcore casual trek fans stick around (for now) the number of people that quit in the next few weeks will be high.

Again I have nothing against the people who find this game great, but as I said you will be the minority in this if there is not a substantial content patch in the next few weeks. And it would have to a HUGE content patch and I don't see them adding enough to keep the people who are on the fence or already quit around.

And that is an ignorant comment for sure LoL. So you are saying you never quit anything? Because as online games go I think I can speak for everyone when I say we have all quit a game at some point. :) Some faster then others I am sure, but you go read the forums and tell me that there is not a huge exodus on the horizon. :)

Well, the Klingies will never be a ful fledged PvE faction. They have always been intended to have a PvP focus and dominance for their content. I do,how ever, understand your sentiment. It is the exact reason I'm going to wait a bit before I actually start that project.

You forgot to insert the part about this being your opinion, here :p

There is no evidence what so ever to favor either side of the argument. The forum does not count because it is a well known fact that forums are not in representative of the majority player. Even still, It seems to me, even on the forums, the issue is pretty evenly divided.
