So I was working on the Daily exploration mission, and I encountered this:

And then:

I thought the patch on the 18th was supposed to remove unBorg-like stuff....
Anyways I thought this was pretty funny lol - Discuss!

guess he's talking about the borg sending out a distress call, playing possum then attacking? On ther other hand, I don't think Ive seen the federation hesitate about blowing away the borg so why try to save them?

    Captain: Fire all phasers!

Officer: SIr! borg shields are down! They're reporting massive casualties!

Captain: Medical team to transport room!

Doesn't seem like a very llikely situation from either standpoint.

Playing possum is irrelevant. Distress calls are irrelevant. We are the Borg. You will be assimilated. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own.

If he read any of the quest texts up to this point he should know the Borg are behaving differently, more aggressive and dynamic than at the last major encounter. It's part of the unfolding storyline.

Like any clever enemy, the Borg will exploit its enemies own weakness against it. In this case the Federations weakness is its own political correctness............man this is starting to sound farmiliar......anywho, The Borg are just adapating and creating new statagy's to use the enemies weakness against it.

Why can't they be more true to Trek, like at the end of "Best of Both Worlds", where Riker has a chance to capture a shut down Borg cube, instead of letting it blow u....

    Oh wait....

Wait, you're not saying that political correctness could cause problems when dealing with a ruthless, dangerous and bloodthirsty enemy, that cares nothing for your views and only wants to see your destruction, are you?

Lol, sorry I was away for the weekend and could not reply. To clarify: Yes I was referring to the Borg sending out a distress signal, and the implication that Starfleet's orders to respond to distress signals applied to the Borg. Of course its not unexpected that the Borg would attack.

Oh and I'm still waiting for Borg Tribbles =P

    Borg: They adapt.

In this case they adapted to play possum to lure in unsuspecting federation ships to assimilate. After all assimilating a federation ship gives you access to all the tactical data they have acquired as well as inside information on federation plans.

I keep saying this but nobody at cryptic seems to be listening to me.

You need to create unique borg/undine exploration missions and not expect them to simply work with the current missions you have.

NONE of the Borg or Undine missions I have done make any sense at all. The ground-based ones are the worst offenders.

I got the ground scan one...... after scanning computer that's not networked then needing to scan next computer

(insert random name here) They are trying to alter the inhabidents devolpment by giving them technolgy blah blah.

Then after scanning the 3rd computer..... It didn't work out they bet on the wrong horse...... beam to ship

Except in the random name part it was BORG......

I'm thinking they don't need funny play to influence, just barge in there and jack everyone up on nanites and assimilate them..... that was un borg like..........lol

I don't think this one is too bad, in the TNG episode I, Borg they picked up a Borg distress signal and responded, maybe you have standing orders from Starfleet to try capture damaged Borg vessels and/or drones?
