Nice! They read us! But..

First let me thank the whole STO team for an incredible job and for how is evolving (i sometimes wish to just sleep until they put everything in the game :P ) and how they are managing the forums and everything.

From what i've read in time we will get:
- Improved Klingon playing
- Dimplomatic and puzzle missions
- Better Federation behaviour
- Raids
- Other playable factions (Romulans and Cardassians)
- Possibly User generated content.
- Improved playability and stability

But I didn't see (maybe cause I failed to find them or cause the forum activity is too much to follow):
- More chars per account (why only three? and why if I bought the Klingon Federation char it takes one of those slots? doesn't seem fair :S )
- Any detail about what will be in the C-Store
- Any comment about why only one buddy key (that really bothers me cause I could bring 3-5 people to play... now think 3 people for each one of us who will play next month... 3000 more? )
- More space problems (black holes, wormholes, gravity wells, space zones which you'll need to avoid cause will destroy your ship)
- Quests inside our ships
- Personalization of the INSIDE of the ships (maybe the Captains cabin? )
- Karma (personal demand though I also read it here in the forum; I'd like people to gain "karma points" by not-killing or negative karma points by doing massacres)

So, what do I miss? I know all my "demands" are here (the "i wanna fly up straight" problem is not a problem for me) but want to hear/read what YOU would like to see :)

P.S. Keep up the good work!! :D

one thing you learn when playing MMOs for more then 10 years is that i will believe in announcements for fixing critical issues when they are actually implemented in the game ... its Warhammer Online all over again

They are really just getting started.

Too much too quick will be confusing for the average player.

actually, WAR was better from launch imo ... you could allways do PvP when there was nothing else to do ... there was crafting ingame that actually had some point(alltough far from being good) ... there was a somewhat persistent world that you could explore ... and so on. WAR got nasty at around lvl 30 or something when you hit the wall and there were no more quests to do ... you literally had to grind 5-10 levels ...

i mean WAR could have had GREAT PvP endgame if only they had some class balance ...

The 3 is limited, supposedly, due to the amount of server space the average STO character takes up: 1 PC, 10 BOs, 8 ship, dual costumes, etc. I'm sure we'll see more added to the C-Store, though.
    - Any detail about what will be in the C-Store
This I'd like to know as well. :)
    - Any comment about why only one buddy key (that really bothers me cause I could bring 3-5 people to play... now think 3 people for each one of us who will play next month... 3000 more? )
This is probably done to limit Chinese Gold Farmers. If you can give out 10 Buddy Keys then that's 10 Farmers who can get one from 1 person buying the game. Gold Farming is a huge issue in most MMOs.
    - More space problems (black holes, wormholes, gravity wells, space zones which you'll need to avoid cause will destroy your ship)
I'd like to see more types, as well as random Episode encounters rather then stock DSE attacks.
    - Quests inside our ships
They've said they're working on missions where you need to fight inside of your own ship.
    - Personalization of the INSIDE of the ships (maybe the Captains cabin? )
I'd rather they just give us smaller bridges that better fit the size of our ships. :)
    - Karma (personal demand though I also read it here in the forum; I'd like people to gain "karma points" by not-killing or negative karma points by doing massacres)
Karma point seem somewhat pointless in a game set in a time of war.

If Devs are going to post on here on their characters, I really think they should mark their post.

you had a diffrent WAR launch to most then.

crafting was only fixed to be "ok" after about 8 months, so STO still has time to improve no?

and if there wasnt balance issues i would probly still be on that game, but it just got ridiculous especially after the americans MADE them remove forts.

i was on war from launch and i plaid solidly for 14 months, and then the issues really started, but the launch was bad, for me at least

Heck no, I got about 9 days left on my subscription and I'm going to make the most of it

I loved this game when it first came out, but then fast discovered it was just endless repetition and the missions got gradually easier and more stupid until I got to RA5 and there was nothing to do.

People neglect to mention, that no only is there no endgame, right about the time you hit Captain the missions suddenly get a LOT more repetitive and redundant.

I want Cryptic to make this game right, so that I can come back and play the game I was promised. It nver happened in COV/COH but I'm hoping they get the message this time.

Yep, this comment is really sig worthy. You know, the situation is this - they give us words, we give them money. So until it is coded and working, their words have same value as air.

After having played several MMO's and reading Dev Post of them all, i learned the harsh leasson that you need too cheer for these kind of anouncements only when they are actually implemented..

I take a very populair MMO as example, at the start of WoW there was promised World PvP, city raids, siege warfare etc etc...
Took blizzard 5 years after release too implement this, and when it was inplemented, it was totally different as they first told, in fact manuals and F.A.Q's where mysteriously altered and even Devblogs rewritten too suit the new view of WoW, turning WoW from as orginally planned open sandbox pvp world into a casual hello kitty online game for the masses, uterrly ignoring the initial fanbase over the masses..

This behaviour i seen in several MMO's idears chancing, who where advertised as great things beeing added too lure new players into the game, but never delivering them..
STO allready started out this way before the game is released and the released product aint even close too a finisched product, granted MMO's never are finished, but this one, just made a new standard in releasing a empty shelled game, and releasing something waaaay too soon without proper quality control..

And wich such a start, each promise they make, i have too see first to be in the game before i even believe them, Cryptic lost all credebility here, and if they dont fix this game fast, they loose even more as credebility, they loose the stuff they doing this for, Hard dollars....

Why even worry about it? Most people never understand that there's a difference between criticism and constructive criticism, just as they'll never understand that what's "right" for them might not be right for thousands of other players. Either way he will either be gone in 9 days or he will get banned like TheStreaker and be gone that way. Then we can get back to discussing the merits and faults of the game without all the " I wanted to love it but can't and it's all Cryptic's fault" angst.

This is precisely why Cryptic, and most MMO teams, is always so cryptic about upcoming items. Cryptic knows plans can change between initial idea and implementation, and they also know that fans never seem to accept that. There's always someone complaining about how some Dev in an interview a year ago said the game would have X and it doesn't, and now the game is forever broken in their minds.

I fixed that for you, above, as I've had my TOS and MU uniforms since the day of launch.

This is the first I heard of this?!?
While Karma points are not without purpose, I oppose the idea of negative Karma for killing my opponents in combat or in defense of myself or crew.
I don't believe in karmic consequences for ones actions and think it would be unfair to penalize a player for killing the enemy instead of using diplomancy. It holds the player to the morale definition of some one elses opinion.

Easy then, If you are the first to shoot "black karma" if not (or you have a good reason, "is war", "they killed babies" etc...)... is self defense, isn't it?

I believe the point I was making was that people shouldn't try to speak for others in their posts in an attempt to make it seem like more people are involved. Just speak for yourself. If I don't like something I say "I don't like it." I don't run around saying WE dont like it, Most don't like it, etc, etc, etc.

I did that? Or did anyone get the feeling that I was doing it?
If so, i'm deeply sorry... the second list it was a list with thing I'd like to see and I created this post to know what you (yes, all of you) would want to see.

Again, sorry if anyone got the feeling that I was speaking for him/her :S

No, not you. We were talking about the post I quoted above where the poster was using the us/we instead of I/me.

The problem lies in that "karma" puts the player under someone elses definition of morality.
What if the player holds no guilt over shooting first/asking questions later?
Should that player be penalized for thier actions?

Bringing karma into play brings morality into play and that is a whole different can of worms to pick through.

Honestly, the amount of improvements and fixes in the first, what 3 weeks, of a game that STO has had is amazing.

In other games you'd be lucky to get any major additions for the first year.
