I was part of a team trying to defeat the Crystalline Entity the other night. The battle went on and on and on, and my ship was destroyed multiple times. When the Entity was finally destroyed, I was really happy because I was in 8th Place on the leader board. At least until I saw my prize ... a battery!
I think that the loot tables need to be upgraded so that better things drop with greater frequency. It's bad enough that 9 of 10 space battles end with batteries being dropped. A Fleet Action should have its own separate loot table. Perhaps a Blue item for 1st Place, Green items for 2nd - 10th Place, and White (non-battery) items for 11th Place+. There should also be a leader board for non-DPS contributors (i.e., Healers).
I think that ground missions should also have a better item drop rate. Unless someone's a Tribble farmer, it's a bit annoying to get an inventory full of food (when it's not an inventory full of batteries).
Better drops, more often. Please, Cryptic!

I don't think CE should be a fleet action, though. It doesn't really fit, IMO.
The least they could do is give boss types a green drop?
but meh.......not a major gripe......1001 other fixes need a fixing first.....
To have a battery for helping defeat the Crystalline Entity, though, is exceeding unfair (in regard to game mechanics) and even a bit rude. I'm one of STO's biggest cheerleaders, but it upsets me to get up to what I consider a good spot on the leader board (8th place) and wind up with a battery. Given the whole "risk vs. reward" mantra, I would *expect* a nice green item for being in 8th place (or a nice white item if I'm not in the top ten). I know that Cryptic likes the number five for some reason, but it's unfair to penalize people who are making the effort against something like the Crystalline Entity. I know that I would be outraged if I was #6 on the leader board.
The loot tables throughout this game need major upgrading. Loot needs to fall more frequently and be something other than batteries.
