I get that we need Maintenance, its awesome..... im GLAD that "things" are being done!
I get that you do these during the off-peak time for America.
But at the very LEAST, can it not be done at 9PM AEST on Friday and Saturday nights......
Preferably not over the weekend at all obviously.

i can deal with not being able to play during the week. (I work, something that allowed me to pay almost $500 Australian for this game)

Please give us the weekends...... please?

I see this same thing on practically every gaming site from fellow gamers down under.

I feel for you, but I think it's pretty much inevitable. With recent policy over there being so hostile towards online and gaming entertainment, likely pushing it into further minority - the future looks bleak for aussie gamers.

There is 5 other days in the week....

    Weekdays, good.
    Weekends, bad.

How exactly does my post want to push the problem onto someone else?

"Preferably not over the weekend at all obviously"

Anyway, i dont expect them to change the time, just dont do it on weekends, period.

i understand things happen, servers crash, lines go down, power gets cut, servers need upgrading (hopefully).
Im not talking about unintentional downtime.

We all accept that servers need TLC but cant we just have a minimal down time during the most busines periods... Friday - Monday time.

I dont know if you get stats for when people game on STO but the EVE website openly show this and yes Friday - Monday moring is the time when people want to play.

While I agree they should be staggered, to make it fair for varied timezones. There is more than just where you live. Its not peak time for the vast majority of the world.

Easy to say when you're not the one constantly getting shut out due to downtime.

Walk in someone else's shoes for a few miles and see if you're still chanting the same mantra.

That's why I stated there should be varied maintenance windows.

I'm just pointing out that if they simply move it, all its doing is making it someone elses problem. Hence why it should be on a rota, as to when it occurs. To at least make it fair.

    Additionally...

I suspect that weekend maintenance will be a rarity once things get settled, for now they are trying to push what they can when they can.
