The server is down for 2-3 hours for maintenance! Now it has happened two days in a row. If you're gonna have them at a time that will always effect customers in a certain timezone you damn well better start compensation us Cryptic.

Are we EU customers really worth this little to you in comparison to the US customers? I'd love to see you pull off a "surprise maintenance" during American gaming hours! You wouldn't dare doing that, we all know it.

I guess they figure if they have to make someone complain about it, EU countries have access to good cheeses to go with the whine.

    seriously, stop it.

3 am is not the ideal time for them to be working, ITS THREE IN THE MORNING for cryptics team.

    Yet they work there.

Because, you know, its early morning US and late morning EU, next to nobody is going to be playing, its not peak time, its the IDEAL time to get it done.

Grow up, the world does not revolve around you. This is not 'EU' gaming hours.

Yes, ideal time so that the Americans can wake up/become fully awake to a nice day of STO! That's why they do it early in the US morning.

No they just figure that Eu Players will just ***** about when the server is down anyway so it really doesn't matter

These forums are full of Epic Eu player QQ cry threads about the servers being down

This has got to come to a stop soon .... another week or so is all they have before the masses start rebelling.

There is no need to take everything down every single fricking night.

As someone who lives in California, I'm really not effected by this ... but for those that live elsewhere, for those that work different shifts (and this is their gaming time) .... it matters a lot.

Not everyone lives in the PST time zone, and not everyone works a 9-5 job.

I work the late shift, thank you very much. So this really is "my" primetime and seeing how the servers are ALWAYS down at this time, I think it is a valid complaint.

Wouldn't it be a compromise to at least rotate downtimes for continents? Its unfair if it ALWAYS happens to us Europeans, and it would also be unfair it it ALWAYS happened to the US or Australia or Asia.

I can work when it suits me and usually I adapt to my US partners, so I'm not as much effected as other Europeans, but this isn't a matter of EU vs US, its simply fairness to customers.

no, that doesn't mean off peak out in the middle of nowhere in some tiny little village in an equally tiny country in europe, off peak in terms of how many players are playing the game. Don't like it? then rally all the peasants and farmers and get them to play STO too, maybe if you and the fifty other teeny weeny countries in that area that could easily fit in the distance between two country towns here start playing you might just make up the population of a suburb in L.A. and they might just reconsider..

    [edit]

The latest replies in this thread is exactly the issue I want to bring up: I paid just as much as you [edit] for this game, and when my 30 days are up I will pay just as much of a monthly fee as you guys will. I should not be treated worse because I'm an European. If Cryptic can't manage to treat us all equally, they should bring out the EU-based servers.

you europeans complaining about things that other places have worse off is getting annoying. that time is peak down here, 9:30pm, every mmoger with no life is home on a friday night ready to play their favourite mmog and STO is down. What am i going to do about it? play bioshock 2 that's what! get over yourselves.

And I thought my post was bad, dude I think you should get over yourself, since clearly in your opinion any not living in the US is living in some shanty village in the middle of nowhere....talk about an idiot.

Way to reinforce the "Ignorant American" stereotype. I hardly live in a "tiny village" in a "tiny country".

I find that strangely offensive, no wonder there's an anti-US sentiment in Europe bar the UK if you're using that attitude.

And no, I'm aware one person isn't the entire nation.

Regardless, there's no school/college or university this week since it's half-term. Not everyone works 9-5, Europe isn't an insignificant gaming market populated with tiny nations with tiny villages. -_-

Way to reinforce the 'illiterate european' stereotype, notice the location under my avatar? does that location seem like it's in America? is it 9:30pm anywhere in the U.S. right now?

We get it far worse than you do, put up with it, go play something else for the few hours it's off.

You can say whatever you want about me, but the truth is the truth. If this game were being hosted in another country I would automatically assume I would be on their schedule for resets and the like. I would not come crying here because I could not play. You should also note I am on this forum because I cannot play...and I do not live in Europe.

Actually, this is one of the negatives of the Internet OdaNova ... it allows a 14 year old (age/mentality ... it doesn't matter) to act as an Ambassador to the world.

Ignorance and insensitivity does not preclude the ability to log on the to the internet and expose yourself.

And the problem isn't limited to just Americans.

Nice...your whole thread is not only unoriginal {been discussed ad nauseaum}, but is trolling and flame bating by definition...Like Zepath, I do not care what you think about me...the fact remains Cryptic is not based in your timezone. Therefore, it is only logical that they operate at the best time for them. no one is forcing you to agree and/or pay for the game...if you are not satisfied vote with your feet.

    1) I have a lifetime subscription.

    2) I like this game and I am not thinking of leaving it. I believe that's going to expand and evolve over time. So, I could say that I am not satisfied.

    3) Seems that you can't understand that a rotation in patch times would be more fair for everyone, not just us Europeans.

Dont worry guys, not all EU players are like the op.
