I was truly looking forward to this game for a long time. It had so much promise and it is about Star Trek. I had general hesitations because almost every Star Trek game has been a disapointment in some way or another. I was hoping that this was going to be the exception.
From the start of the game I was upset because I was forced to play as the federation and level up in order to unlock a second factions, the Klingons. With the variety of factions within Star Trek to be limited to 2 was a supreme disappointment but i continued on.
I joined a Fleet early on and this enhanced the gameplay on a superficial level. There were problems with people not being able to complete missions and being sent into the wrong instance.
The blandness of the missions, save a few are repetitive and offer no challange other than getting the mission done in the shortest time possible. Ground and space missions offer no sense of actual exploration because of the limited space within each instance to explore. In ground missions my AI away team is either getting trapped behind something or so far behind me that they can not assist me. In space missions I feel that i am rotating between the same 3 types of missions.
I am saddened that this game did nothing to be more than a Star Trek shoot em up with online capabilities.
Yes the game has faults, but others that release games in far worse condition and then do nothing to remidy the problem. Cryptic at least is attempting to do so.
Psst. Fencer8. Don't feed the Tribbles. Their amazing buffing powers do not extend to the forums. They'll just multiply and multiply.
What are you even talking about, your sentence and comments do not make any sense what so ever. The OP had good points and you are talking about tribbles. Maybe next time do not comment, IMO.

Do I really have to explain the joke? That's kind of disappointing.
Leveling a Federation character to 6 is the definition of a cakewalk, and then the OP can have all the Klingon fun he wants. Since Klingons start at level 5 anyway, just look at the Fed levels as counting towards the levels the game gives your KDF character by default.
Honestly, you'd think people had to start Klingons at level 1 or something.

No you don't have to explain the joke, I was being facetious. The Klingon fun you were talking about I suppose meant waiting in PvP queue for hours at a time? Also I would appreciate starting my Klingon off at Level 1 instead of being handed a level 5 Klingon with no tutorial of any kind. The Klingon Faction is a joke and that is what the OP was explaining.

Honestly you should have the possibility to start with any Faction at Lvl 1. And maybe it will get there in the future. But if you read the OP's point a bit further many players would agree that it's not in a state considered ready. And the problem with the rather "boxed" universe makes many not feel good with it. So far he has just put down his impressions on the game and that's legit and full valid.

I agree with you. There needs to be a lot more Star Trek in this game. The combat is fun and is fine for this game. There just needs to be options.
More than one way to complete a mission with different rewards.
Actual exploration with fleshed out planets to explore.
Large open space with a much larger instance size for Fleets to create bases on planets they discover. Then have crafting that alows you to build deffenses against other fleets.
Open sector space for open PvP with objectives.
Diplomacy as a side game, part of the exloration clusters, options on missions or all of the above.
Ship interiors that have function as well as sector travel from you bridge.
Some kind of death penalty.
Respects.
Group content for each rank of captain.
The list is endless for the amount of changes that need to be made to make this more of a Star Trek game. So the choice is stay and try to help shape the game or come back from time to time to see what has changed. All we can do at the moment.
