The pre-order bonus... Are you insane?

Really. You changed it so people are getting multiples of C-store points, Borg BO's, and other bonuses that stack, when there are many bonuses that do not?

Here.. you a few extra efficiency borgs and 1k c-store points.
Here.. you got a few extra TR-116 rifles.. worth 0 value.

Is this an utter joke or did the professional management of this game just disapear?

It wont matter. They cant fix it aside from a rollback. Way too many people have done it. Sure, it isnt a issue on all preorders, but a few are going to be downright wrecking on the game. I am certain, with how backlogged they are, they will not have the resources to go through each account and manually remove the items.

If you would test it instead of whining about it, you would see that while you can claim additional borg BOs you can't commission them.

Red matter capacitors have a global cooldown of 5 minutes with a reuse time of 10 minutes, so you can get a power boost for 6 seconds every 5 minutes if you have two. More than two are useless because of the global cooldown.

So people can get a few newbie rifles and shields for themselves.. big deal. It's not game breaking and it certaintly isn't an "utter joke."

the pre order items are useless to my RA toon but a few extra suits of armor is handy for my alts away team.

the only thing that gives people are real advantage is the extra C-store points, its basically free money for them

    You misunderstand me.

I am not ranting because they intended for this, and yeah i figure it is a bug.

I am ranting because the sheer idiocy of letting something like this pass through when making this change to the point that short of a rollback, they will not be able to revert the damages. You think, with how busy they are, they can go into each account and manually revert the multiple objects? Really do you think this?

So yeah.. i am going to RANT over something that in every other mmorpg that something similiar has happened has either suffered through the gameplay altering TRIBBLE for months afterwards, or rollback day/s.

Darn right i am going to rant. and yes, i did bug it. I ran into irc to see if one of the guys was there to try and report it faster, but all i saw were smartasses who most likely got no issue with this since it benefits them.

Get off my case. Plenty of people ranting because of a server crash. I've never ranted before. But I am not going to just sit and let a game I enjoy get crapped on by the very people that are supposed to manage and CARE for it. To keep it in a state of Fair Play.

It was working right at the beginning, then afew days ago it started allowing multiply claims of the differant items. For the record, the auto-defense battery... multies do in fact work togather...... :) Not that I would know from first hand experience. I did /bug it in game so hopefully afew others did and it'll be fixed soon.

This was an intended change and was announced yesterday here:

    http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?p=2131571#post2131571

The purpose of the change was to allow people who accidentally delete their items to reclaim them without requiring a GM.

The cooldown on the red matter capacitor is a bug and will be fixed.

yea why are people whining about this stuff lol it still bound to your account, its vendor value is 0. so you delete it or whatnot you can get it back. or just have red matter thingy on every ship in your drydock for lulz.

I'm glad they did this (in a way) because I finally get to use my Red Matter Capacitor that went 'poof' on the 5th due to the equipment bug.

Also, am I the only one who has the 'Automated Defense Battery' as the name for an item in the C-Store, but, when I claim it, it is really an 'Automated Defense Turret'? Just curious if anyone else is having this problem as well; I personally like the 45 plasma damage to beam weapons.

err, there is no way to get multiple C-store points, original poster, what are you smoking?

and you can't trade/sell any of the other items, and having multiple borgs does nothing, you can only have at most 2 of them on any ship

edit: just tested, and you can't even commission a second Borg BO. nice job freaking out over nothing at all.

It doesn't add 45 plasma damage to beam weapons. It's an automated turret that fires at close targets with a 360 degree arc. 45 is the damage it does.

Ahhh, thanks! That explains some stuff for me now lol. I was just curious because it calls it the Automated Defense Battery before I acquire it, then names it the Automated Defense Turret afterwords. Thanks for helping me and my fuzzy brain! :)

Was it a bug when some guy gave out his code to get an admiral uniform and a bunch of us claimed it or would you qualify that as a royal f-up on your part cryptic?

Welp, looks like it's time to put those pitchforks and torches away. Could have had a 200 post thread here easily.

I'm not sure where the TWOK code originated from but it has been republished many times publically. If Cryptic didn't want it getting out then they'd be killing those threads. Soooo ... to answer your question, neither.

I would say neither, because the retailer of the discs with the code probably wasn't Cryptic. I'd say it would qualify as a royal f-up for whoever produced and packaged the discs lol.

It was just one code, all the same, in every dvd/bluray set, not a bug, so perhaps a royal on your part for not knowing that bit of old news?:)

And yeah, this is a good thing, in the end. Means I don't have to take up a ship slot for my TOS Constitution forever. If I want to remove it, I can... and I can still buy it again in the future.

My one thing with this is that with equipment (weapons, personal shields, armor) you CAN outfit your whole crew with them. You can also stack Automated Defense Turrets. IMHO, this isn't a huge deal as those items become obsolete before Commander.

However, you CAN'T have more than one Borg BO. Which, IMHO, given the result this has for the equipment items, you might as well allow Borg BOs for as many Engineering slots as the code owner wants to fill.

The worst part about this would be that it would allow two or three BOs with the Efficient trait but, as I understand it, Saurians are turning up with the Efficient trait and its only a bug that prevents it from popping up on more races. So if Efficient is intended to be more widespread than it is currently then being able to get multiple Borg BOs would be in line with the overall consequences of the chain.

    Agreed

Silly arguing over numbers shouldn't affect us being able to have a crew of (mostly) borg if we want to for the coolness of it...

I'm really glad they did this. I claimed my Constitution class on my original character and now it's been taking up one of my ship slots all this time because I didn't want to get rid of it. Now I can get my ship slot back until later when/if I actually need it.

What this dude said. Only thing you can do with the B BO is train your other BOs.
