    Ok here is what I found out.
    I was able to set up the following voice commands mapped to WSAD keys. using voice attack.

    Climb = Hold down S for 1 second then release S
    Dive = Hold down W for 1 sec. then release S
    Port = hold down A for 1 sec......
    Starboard = Hold down D for 1 sec.......
    Hard to port = Hold down A for 3 sec........
    Dive to Starboard = Hold down W and D for 3 seconds then release both.

    Increase time for sharper maneuvering.
    Caveat:
    Commands cannot overlap, the software will only execute 1 command at a time, but will cue the command to run after the current command. I.E. "Hard to Port Raise shields" Will not raise shields until the 3 second timer is done on the A key.

    You can demo the software and give it a try before you buy. Think there is a 20 command restriction and 21 days.

    Checked it out and it looks great for a programmer. Not intuitive at all though.

    This program Voice attack is well worth it. So easy to use and set up. There was really no instructions but they were not needed. Thanks for the suggestion.

    I love how you can program multiple voice commands for one hot key. So I can say "scan object, take all, access bank, access exchange, ect.. all commands hit the letter "F". I even got creative and made voice commands that say Haggle when talking to vendors. I use it for full impulse, half impulse ect.

    Thanks again for the suggestion this is simply amazing.

    need help.

    I'm having a problem gettting the commands to work in-game. currently, i'm having problems in 3 areas, if anyone can help me fix them, i'd appreciate it.

    1) I"m starting with my emotes. I have run the ms speach recognition trainer, and created voice commands for 7 emotes:
    • stovokor
    • salute
    • taunt
    • qapla
    • tug
    • make it so (engage)
    • bloodwine

    when voiceing stovokor & qapla, i have no response in-game. I think part of the problem is that i have to train the software to recognize the voices, but i can't figure out how to accomplish this.

    2) with the remaining emotes, the command is (mostly) recognized, and appears in the tray in game correctly, but i have to enter the command manually, what did i miss??

    3) i'd like to setup my tray powers to voice commands, such as (high yield torpedo, power to sheilds, etc). can anyone please post an example of how to do this as well as ship spped (thrusters, impulse & warp).??

    any help is appreciated.

    1.
    For special words you will need to add it to the windows speech dictionary. To do this
    Open windows speech recognition, tight click on the blue mic button then choose "Open speech dictionary"
    Here you can add all your own custom words.
    When you are done close WSR down, open your voice attack and add your new voice command . Make sure to spell them them same in both.

    2.
    This sounds like you are using it for character emotes like /dance and such, or RP text maybe. Either way if a command is going into the text box and then you have to press Enter to "fire it off" then you just need to add a "press Enter" command as the last in the string.

    3.
    Your key binds tab in options will have the keys you need to map most everthing. If you have already done some emotes then theses are easy. Just map the voice command to the default key press for what ever button you are normally pressing.

    For power presets use this:
    Attack = GenButtonClick PowerLevel_Preset_0
    Defense = GenButtonClick PowerLevel_Preset_1
    Speed = GenButtonClick PowerLevel_Preset_2
    Balance = GenButtonClick PowerLevel_Preset_3
    These you will have to bind manually in STO. Look for info on manual key binding.

    PS make sure you place a pause in function commands as shown in post #7 of this thread and choose option B when binding in Voice Attack.

    I have tried that, and then the program opens 3 windows, should the command in wsr read "press enter" or should it appear differently??

    Should option b be used in all binds, or just this specific bind??

    Now the only thing i'm trying to figure out is if i can have a profile for each of my ships, and call them up from within another profile. (not all ships have the same bo's on a station....)

    Thanks for the help - paid for the program last night....Just sad that i can only play on the weekend....especially since i've been thinking up some interesting responses for the program when they follow an order, (or for added immersion, when i have one of my outbursts during combat... :D

    EDIT: I've just tried to read the manual keybind post, but i didn't understand any of it...i'm wondering if anyone would be willing to share a winattack profile for sto with a few of each type listed (throttle, power tray, emote, manual bind)? this way i can at least see a profile that works, and figure out where my mistake(s) are.

    thanks again!

    You should NOT be using WSR in conjunction with Voice Attack. WSR should be turned off and shut down and use voice attack by it self.
    Option B should be on for all commands.
    I will send you a PM.

    sorry about that, wrote wsr instead of voiceattack, which is the only thing i've used. Wanted to clarify that.

    Do you setup all these commands first in the windows rec speech and then the voiceattack will then be used while playing STO? Sorry dont mean to be a noob, but Im just trying to figure from the 2 threads you have on how to setup all this and I think Im lost haha. Could you give a rundown on how you would do that if you have time?

    I downloaded VoiceAttack and absolutely LOVE it! Here are a few of the commands I came up with to give it more of a "Star Trek" feel for my game:

    "Ahead full" - increase engine speed to 100%
    "Ahead one-half" - Increase engine speed to 50% from dead stop
    "Increase speed" - increase speed by 25%
    "Reduce speed" - decrease speed by 25%
    "All stop" - reduce engine speed to 0%
    "Open a channel" - activate chat window
    "Hail Starfleet Command" - activates Remote Contacts (requires setting keybind in Options)
    "Fire (1-4)" - launches individual torpedoes/mines in slots 1-4
    "Target" - targets enemy (Tab key)
    "Scan the area" - sensor scan/tricorder (V)

    I've been having a problem trying to use the Shift key in combination with another key, so my alternative was to remap some of those keybinds. Now I feel like I'm really in command when my ship and officers follow my orders! :)

    Could you list what the actual commands it sends to the keyboard please ? as I'd love to see if your doing yours different to me. Cheers.

    I apologise for the necro, but I wanted to make sure this software is still going before I put my paypal info in. The website for VoiceAttack is borked; it cuts off every page and shows no vertical scrollbar, both in latest firefox and IE7, and you can't post to their GoogleGroup forums(or at least, I was not able to). Has it been abandoned?
