The rubberbanding and pausing appeared to be getting worse instead of better as this past week went by. I'm just wondering if there's any information available on that, such as whether we can expect to see some fixes for it soon.
We were told new servers were coming in to alleviate the issue but that hasn't seemed to help. If anything it's gotten worse. On the ground I seem to get pulled back (rubber band) a dozen feet ever twenty or so yards. In space, particularly during space combat, the enemy vessels frequently appear to come to a complete stop and then 3-5 seconds later their position correctly updates. It's really spoiling the entire experience.
I'm frequently grouped with friends and every one of us is seeing the same issues.

Figure it out. Are you gonna be a fanboi or a hater? I troll both.
I'm giving feedback on an issue I see. Is there a problem?
You should be aware that repeatedly violating forum guidelines (as you seem to be doing from your statement) can result in your account be suspended and even terminated. I suggest brushing up on the policies before posting again so something unfortunate like that doesn't occur to you.

I think we've narrowed this down some. Since rubberbanding was a known issue at one point during the beta, we naturally assumed it was still happening since (from our perspective) the situation never improved. But while we were complaining about the rubberbanding this weekend, another player in our group mentioned that everything was moving along very smoothly. We asked him to try a few tricks that we know causes our characters to rubberband, such as taking a sudden turn, sprinting, etc (although sometimes it just seems to plague even while using more predictable movements), but despite that he wasn't having any rubberbanding issues.
It turned out the culprit was the fact that we were all using wireless broadband connections to our invidual routers. Once we hooked our computers directly up to the router with an ethernet cable the rubberbanding went away.
Now, before someone can say "duh, of course", I want to point out that this is the first time I've experienced a rubberbanding issue while playing an MMO (or even a multiplayer FPS) while using my wireless router. I just don't experience this issue elsewhere in other games while playing through my wireless connection. So, I can't help but wonder why the warping in wireless play is showing up so harshly here, and if there's anything that can be done (on my end, or on Cryptic's) to resolve it. My signal strength is at 100% (the computer is all of two feet away from the router), there is a clear line of sight between the router and the system, and there is nothing close enough to either to be providing any sort of interference. And, like I said, this rubberbanding while using a wireless connection only seems to show up in STO.
First you should post your specs and the dxdiag report. You can find instructions on how to do that here. We need to know what we are dealing with. Also read these STO Performance and Frame Rate Guide v1.1. These are all sticky's on top of this forum.
problem with wireless.
On vista and I assuming also win 7 is that vista does a network check every 60 seconds. This can cause problems with some wireless since this game required a constanct connection.

see this thread of work around for vista and it may also work in win 7.

Did not know this, thanks. Another piece of the puzzle.
