Is the ground combat side of STO entirely solo, and if it is not where are the planets where the group missions located. Also is there "Dungeons" with static drops like in most MMO,s
So how or where does grond combat with other players happen ?
You do a mission with other players (either team up before hand or via open instance teaming) and then when you go to beam down you all beam down together.
Just team up with people when you are going to do a mission like treasure trading station. That one has space and ground stuff in it. I've done it with my fleet was great fun. As far as "dungeons," Basically every part of the game is instanced. If your team goes into a system for a mission, and I go in at the same time, I go to a separate copy of the mission on my own. So basically, the whole game is like a dungeon. There are also fleet actions. These require you to fight along side a lot of other people to complete objectives or complete missions, the rewards for these are really good. Also, if you are in the top 5 dps for these, you get better loot.
Ok, so that was a little long winded but I hope in answered your questions.
There is also a ground based fleet action at the Xarantine system called "Breaking the Planet." I don't even like the ground combat much in this game, but when I did that fleet action, I had a great time.

did they finally fix it ?
I don't know what was wrong with it, but we didn't have any problems completing it. That was the first time I'd done it.
well, you couldnt blow up the facilities ...
Oh.. well that worked fine when I did it. I was the only one who was even bothering to do it, but it worked.
I got the impression that nobody else in our group had done it before either, but maybe they all thought it was still bugged.
it was through the whole beta period and at least 2 weeks after headstart ...
