Am I ever going to be able to explore?

You know....Space... the Final Frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds; to seek out new life and new civilizations; to boldly go where no man has gone before.

I'm playing as a Klingon and the lack of pve or pvp game-play content is sending me into a borish state. Are we getting new content within the next couple weeks, since I've done about it all as a Lt. Commander and just forsee the same pvp missions over and over again.

Not for awhile--probably see a glimpse at the 45 day patch.

You're perfectly free to explore different methods of vaporizing people and blowing **** up. :D

I'm Federation. I also wonder when they are going to make exploration actually about exploring stuff.

It's really the big thing this game needs to truely be a Star Trek game.

I think the exploration missions are as close as we're going to get for the forseeable future. And I don't think it's too far off. At least as far as we're likely to get in an MMO.

There are loads of planets you can explore.....mind you they are all flat and 20 x 20 and have no life on them at all......WTF u expect, Cryptic made it :D

I've explored lots of planets. The randomly generated planets can be quite interesting and beautiful. I don't know if those missions are available for Klingons, but they are there.

I've gone into the "exploration" sectors and chased anomallies and unknown systems around a couple times now. Felt reasonably "Exploration-y" to me, given that there's a few thousand other folks way out ahead of me in poking into all the fixed/static corners of the game.

I just don't see myself getting to any hard-coded content first. I don't play enough to be scoring server firsts they way I did in a game like say EQII (first on server to craft several items, first on server to acquire several rare drops).

most exploration missions are. you arrive at a strange planet, it might have something vital for the federation as scans in orbit tell us.

Send an away team to investigate. Oh wow a group of romulans/klingons etc turn up in orbit and deploy 30 teams for you to kill while exploring.

Or.. there are many ships here. Kill them.

You think thats bad, wait till the "kill squadrons" count jumps for the pve grind at commander. As if it wasn't bad enough

There really isn't a whole lot else to do Klingon side, yet.

Still, I blame the Klingons for being one-dimensional warmonger stereotypes.

Unfortunately, i've looked for something else to do, but it seems that the content hasnt been added. /shrugs

Should I wait 6 months? I've already canceled for after this month in hopes that the game transforms into something other than a rudimentary space shooter.

Judging by your favourable vote of St Exploration quality I would have to say Yes I must be playing a totally different game to you.

The game I played had these identical lines in space called annobblyknees or something and when you clicked them you entered into an instance (shock). However you were then presented with a awesome looking planet that made you think "WOW I R KIRK"

I then get told to orbit the planet (which means fly towards it at light speed) and beam down to investigate the strange reading we are getting. So far so good, I imagined beaming down to something about the size of Stranglethorn vale in wow, a place that may be is forest and has a few caves, maybe an ancient culture live there and I have to study them.....maybe a secret underground base of an old lost advanced race.....who knows.

Well I think we all now know what is actually wating for us in the Cryptic ST, yes it's a bloody square flat 20 x 20 lifeless dump. GG
