Not sure if this was discussed in the forums but in regarding the credit sellers/scammers. PUT a max credit sell on the exchange. I, like many, are tired of seeing a "Common" item on the exchange going for OVER 10000 credits when it is worth on 1000 credits for example.

In a minute, you'll get a response from someone who plays the exchange, and the gist of what he/she will say will be something along the lines of "An item is worth what someone is willing to pay for it" in order to justify charging such ridiculous prices.

And then this thread will degrade into a "Greedy traders" vs everyone else flame war.

Yes yes it is true. Supply and Demand :)

Seriously though. A lot of those whites you see at 10k can be used at memory Alpha to make better gear and advance you and that's why they are so expensive. If silly people pay it then you will always get jerks selling it at those prices.

EC is not so much of a Issue at higher lvls but paying 100k for 10 whites would dent anyones bank balance.

I prefer the ancient adage "A fool and his money are soon parted". Or Rule of Acquisition # 9 "Oppurtunity plus instinct equals profit".

While we're imposing purely arbitrary price limitations that will do nothing to prevent sellers/scammers, why don't we make it so that everything on the exchange can only be priced at 1 EC each? I certainly would like to see the spammers start advertising 10 energy credits for $19.

supply and demand, sorry.. it's true.. just give as an option to sort by price and the rest will take care of itself.

Well if someone gave such a response I'd have to agree with them.

Some of the prices on the exchange are ludicrous. But those items BELONG to the player selling it. They should have the freedom to post that item for any amount of energy credits they see fit. That doesnt mean anyone has to buy it.

There are also some very good deals on the exchange, and plenty of people post things that are very cheap. Ive seen items that typically go for 20,000 go for only 4000 for instance.

These items dont last long on the exchange as someone is likely to grab them quickly.

Anyways, its the way it is and the way it should stay. People should be able to post whatever price they feel is reasonable. Its THEIR item. It belongs to them. Until you pay their price, that is.

That would make all the lazy WoW players very happy no doubt. They could max out with minimum effort. I mean come on.

    To the OP
Do you really expect us all to work our asses of in the game and sell all our loot for under 10k :) Oh dear the exchange would die very quickly as people discovered that its pointless wasting there time and effort to put anything on there.

You will always get scammers/gold sellers and nothing will make them go away, They are like a virus. You bring out a Vaccine and the virus adapts.

Best way they can limit it is to no have trial accounts or if they do make it so they cant use the exchange. Put a minimum lvl to do whispers and use the exchange to lvl 5 or 10.

If they do have trials then make it so they cant use any chat except local and put all the above restriction so they cant use the exchange at all or Memory Alpha.

Theres lots of ways to slow them down but I am afraid they will always find a way :)

Exactly right. Just like Ebay. You dont see Ebay imposing a limit do you. I can see it now, 10 bed mansion, 10k cause that's the ebay limit :)

I wonder how many people are using the exchange to "store" items because they know that the price they set would not be met by a purchaser.
