So, I can be silenced, probably because Klingon babies I beat in pvp spammed "report spam" on me, and yet my mailbox is still full of gold spammers.

Why did I bother getting a lifetime sub again? YOU FAIL.

Reminds me of when the then-owner of GameFAQs got banned off his own site because there was an auto-ban system in place when enough people reported a post. :D

I remember that, but then GameFAQs is notorious for it's lazy and corrupt mods.

Wonder if the devs or GMs ever look around here anymore. Well if you're looking, you'd better know I'm thinking about having Paypal dispute my payment of the lifetime sub, I refuse to be treated like a spammer because you're so god damn lazy to use this TRIBBLE backwards automated system!

Alright so I blew my top, but a GM responded in game to my ticket and fixed it so I can talk again.
I still think the system's odd but it was handled quickly and fairly, so I apologise.

Your $240 Lifetime subscription would pay a person's $7/hour salary for less than a single work week.

I just thought I'd point that out since you're measuring the value of your lifetime subscription against their GM availability.

Evidently there is a down-side to the auto-silencing coding in the game...it doesn't extend to the forums. :(

Well thats good. Im surprised that actually happened. The GM responding quickly that is.

Im not sure how I feel about this auto spam feature they've included. I can plainly see it has the potential for griefing. Doesnt really seem like the optimal best choice all around.

You seem to have anger issues, can't help but wonder if you were so trite and beligerant in your in-game conversations?

If so, i'm not surprised you were reported and silenced. Seems far more likely than your being reported by enemy players for killing them.....which is somewhat paranoid and more than a little egotistical.

Edit: Posted before your earlier reply about the GM so i didn't see that

I'm blunt, but if you're honestly going to report me for my style of speech then that's as bad as doing it cause I killed ya, no? Besides I said that in anger; few things annoy me more than Klingons so they're always my first target.

I read a dev post about this system somewhere that stated that the GMs are made aware of people who get muted so that they can keep an eye on them. It's then up to the GMs to determine if the person is a gold seller (at which time they get banned), a spammer who deserves it, or a victim of circumstance.

So while the process is driven by players it has GM oversight.

According to the GM I spoke to, the automated system isn't the sole deciding factor for a silence so that left me even more confused.
Not sure how the system works now but it seems like it needs work.
However I approve that the GMs are on the issue and don't just let the system be king (like GameFAQs, heh heh).

Well if thats the case it is as it should be I suppose. As long as its being carefully monitored or overseen, then perhaps it wont be a problem.
