I noticed a setting under the team settings last night that I hadn't seen before. It was a setting for loot threshold and gave the options of common, uncommon, rare, and very rare. Anyone know what this is for? It's default is common. Does this mean that we won't see anything but common drops? Should I set it to very rare to make sure we've got a chance to get any type of drop? Thanks in advance.
I'm pretty sure that is simply the grade of items that you would see as loot. ie...if your loot threshold is set to uncommon, you would not see(waste your time) on common drops. A threshold set to rare would have only rare or better drops for looting. Note: this will not increase your chances of getting more rare items, however, it would "filter out" drops you think are not worth picking up.
It has to do with how the loot is distributed to the team. If you set the type to "common," and your loot is "Round Robin", everyone on the team takes turns getting loot.
If you set it to "rare," "Common" items will be free-for-all, but "rare" and above will be round robin.
I believe that's how it works... The rarity may be used for other loot types. I'm not where I can check (at work).
Doc's version seems to make more sense than mine. I didn't take the team looting into account. Sacred 2 had a loot setting where you could ignore a certain threshold of loot, so that's what I was thinking there.
The above is not quite correct , basically it is a group only setting for loot distribution and works as follows......
If you and I are grouped in a mission and the loot threshold is set to "common" whenever either of us hit F to open a loot container we would both get a dialogue pop up with need, greed or pass (pass is the x symbol in top right in this game)
With the loot threshold set to "uncommon" whenever one of us hit F to open a loot container we would both get a need greed dialogue box pop up if the item was green; blue or purple BUT if the item was white (common) it would go straight into the inventory of whoever copened the loot container.
The other 2 options are for the above to happen with blue/purple (rare) loot and purple (very rare) loot, hope that explanation works for you.
EDIT: Doc posted as I was typing that out and my explanation pertains to need/greed selection selected, usually the default in most games.
