What is the New York State Guard is that something like the National Guard?

I am a Navy Vet of a foreign war I didn’t visit your link though since polls are worthless media devices meant to generate the perception that large numbers of people feel a particular way about some issue which due to our nature of wanting to belong makes us chose to believe that same way regardless of the facts.

Lets put it this way, if i HAD ever been in the military i CERTAINLY would NOT post who i am, which batallion i served in, where i was stationed or anything that might identify me as a member of the armed forces. NOT in this day and age, no way.

Sorry, but this one needs locking.

Cryptic got rid of the off-topic forum a while ago. I guess you could consider 10 forward an off-topic forum though.

    Fear does make people pathetic.

Me? USMC from 1975 to 1980, honourable discharge for medical reasons due to an injured knee. Radio operator and forward observer, back when we did it all with a map, compass, and Mark One Eyeball. We didn't have computers or satellites helping us spot for artillery or air strikes.

The New York State Guard is a State Defense Force. They are The National Guard reserve. They support, assist and augment National Guard units. They assume all State Military missions when The whole National Guard deploys overseas (last time was WW2)

    National guard 3 years.
    Army active duty 8 years.

Got fed up saying yes sir to stupid incompetent morons who could not navigate their way out of a paper bag or fight better than sissy slapping someone. While having an ROE that could put you in prison for doing your job.

    Epic Fail on the commanders
    Epic win on the soldiers.

Since Im not a whacko paranoid, I had no problem clicking a button that says I served in the US Navy.

It didnt ask for any of that other info some people were freaked about. I served and am proud to admit to 10 years Active Duty
    with an Honorable Discharge.

I dont get this at all. I dont think Ive seen a time in my life where tyhe military has been more praised (in the US) than it is now. I was boen in 77, so a lot of my early life they were still being distained over their experiences in Vietnam. When Gulf War I came about, it swung towards the positive in my opinion, and a tick or two back with George Bush's fiasco, but it was still miles ahead of where it started. In my life anyways.

Starfleet is the games version of the "Military" and how does that have anything to do with the game?
Perhaps someone wants to fly with other active and former military game players? Why do you need to be so beligerant about it?

This is not the right platform for such topics. Please lets stick to Star Trek Online topics here :)
