Has XP been nerfed?

From playing beta and closed beta it feels like it has.

Im currently ltc 8 and doing c2 lvl missions....obviously that is not sustainable and im doing exactly what i did in beta...

Now i DONT MIND XP BEING REDUCED...but the problem is where is the content so i can do missions for my xp instead of the quite frankly boring 30min science things. Find 5 bits of space junk, scan 5 anomalies...defend this base....and so on...there really truely boring..

So if XP has been nerfed thats fine, but where is the content to fill the gap...

    XP was not reduced from closed beta or open beta. In fact XP rates have gone up since those events. This was achieved in a few ways:

    1. Since closed beta killing enemy ships now grants XP rewards, on average %20 of your XP gain comes from ship kills, this is a huge boost to overall XP rate.

    2. Passes were made on all XP rewards for all missions, including PvP, to try to normalize XP rates on a 15 minutes cycle, using the standard "patrol" mission as the baseline.

    3. Several higher level missions were increased in XP rewards to try to normalize the "percentage" gain per mission.

    4. More content was added that generates XP, such as the explore missions.

    5. All patrol missions had the number of kills in them in order to complete reduced in half, in essence halving the time they take to complete and in effect doubling the rate of XP gained (measured by time) for patrol missions


    XP rates are the fastest they have ever been for STO. There was no last day before launch, halve the XP rate like they did in Champions Online, event for STO. Devs have said more than once that the expected amount of /played time to reach level cap is roughly 80 hours. That hasn't changed.
