The ANTI-quitting thread. (Or how I learned to stop worrying and love the phaser)

So, with all the "I'm quitting" threads, I thought I would make an anti-quitting thread. This thread is for all of those who like the game, why they like the game and will continue to play it.

Since being around since closed beta, I know the game has its bugs, glitches, and flaws. It is no secret that this game, like most other newly released MMO's, will have bumps and pot-holes in the road. But as Cryptic continues to put out additional patches, things will smooth out greatly over time.

For me, the game is enjoyable, though I would like more and more things to do. I want to be a Ferengi trader! I want to play Dabbo at Quark's on DS9! I want to make out with a green chik in the captain's quarters! (That might mean a "rating" increase. ) I want to create my own scenarios on the holodeck and challenge my friends to complete them... And the list of neat ideas goes on and on. Be productive/constructive and help them evolve the game into the Star Trek we can all be happy with.

For now, I enjoy the aspects of the game that are there, and I eagerly wait for more. This game isn't "a fail", it's not "boring", and just because you can't fly around in your Tier 5 escort destroying Liuetants doesn't mean the PvP is "stupid". Words like PvE, casual, friendly, fun, entertaining: those are the descriptors for this game. If you want words like PvP, ganking, corpse camping, one-shot kills, twitch combat: well, you've bought the wrong game and should have read the site (or at least the game cover before doing so).

So, I'm NOT quitting, and I urge all of you out there to NOT QUIT too!!!

And no, you can't have my stuff, because I'm NOT QUITTING!

Slim Pickens can't ride a phaser beam, so you're going to have to re-shoot your ending.

I ran out of characters in the title, so I couldn't put in "photon torpedo" instead. So, I opted to go with phaser. We all have to make sacrifices... ;)

I will admit that this game could be a lot better, but that's what updates are for. I have had a blast (literally) playing this game. The exploration missions are fun, but I like to use my phasers too. So you have some variety, and that's what good games are all about. All in all the only thing I want to improve is the drop happy servers.

Ive always really enjoyed the game. Still do. Its a great start.

The only concern I have game wise is content. Im not sure if there is enough there to keep me playing. I played EvE for 6 months. Other MMOs I played for a year here, or a year there.

Im not sure STO has that much content. I know they will be adding some as time goes on, but even so, I dont see how this game could possibly keep people playing for years. Or months even.

Character slots are limited. Thats one factor. And the game itself seems small comparatively to a lot of other mmorpgs. Short in other words.

Im worried this may be the death sentence as far as making this game a major subscription puller. Its got MAJOR potential. But there's just not enough content as far as I can tell.

I enjoy the game as much as I enjoy an amusing distraction. I do not feel like I need to call in sick or lock myself in my house with a do not disturb sign in order to play, but I do have a good time when I am on.

This game does need a lot of work on additions it feels like they have released a basic design where everything works for the most part and there is an outline to the main story, but it lacks depth and motivation. I think where they really dropped the ball was in the exploration department the first time I went out I was excited that I found a new planet then when I left the planet and it wasn’t on my map my excitement diminished though I see no reason to mark it on the map considering there is no reason to go back there.

The one thing I get tired of seeing are the I have reached end game so I am quitting posts. I am thinking when I read those “Great so you rushed through the game likely didn’t read any of the story and now that there is not anyone telling you what to do you feel there is nothing to do.” I wish they would just quit and go off somewhere else to be led around like the mindless zombies they are without posting their worthless opinions that have as much substance as flatulence in the wind.
