I don't know the complete events and timeline, but I do know that Spock returns. He was revived by the Genesis program I believe. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
*******If you read the entire thread this has been proven wrong and I retract this statement.*********
Throw it all out the window people. Since the last Star Trek this is all happening in an alternate time line. Nothing you know from the movies, except the last new one, applies. Kirk and Spock never talked about the Romulans losing their home world in the TOS, but it happened and changed everything.
The 5 year mission we've known since the 60's doesn't apply here. We get to make our own history.

Just from TOS
Enterprise A, (built after The Enterprise was decommissioned, then stolen by Kirk and destroyed in a battle with the Klingons in "The Search for Spock") had three officers with the rank of Captain - Kirk (who had the command), Spock and Montgomery Scott.
Enterprise B appears in ST:Generations under the command of Captain John Harriman. After the events in the movie, the ship is repaired. There are no canonical sources for the captains, but two are mentioned:
- Captain Tomas Johnson, Jr.
- Demora Sulu
Enterprise C appears in ST:TNG, "Yesterday's Enterprise" under the command of Captain Rachel Garrett. The ship is taken back in time under the command of helmsman Lieutenant Junior Grade Richard Castillo. No other captains are mentioned before Rachel Garrett.
Enterprise D is commissioned at the beginning of the TNG series under the command of Jean Luc Picard, and destroyed also under his command in "Generations".
Enterprise E is commissioned after the D is destroyed, also under Picard's command

Edit for bad typing (as usual)
The new Abrams Trek movie is in the alternate time line. STO is in the time line of the previous things. The only thing from Abrams Trek movie that affects STO is the fact the star went nova destroying Romulus and Nero and Spock went through a time rift to create the alternate 1985 without using a flux capacitor to boot. Oh wait. Wrong movie but the same basis as Back to the Future II.
As far as STO is concerned Spock and Nero just vanished without a trace and nobody know what became of them.
It's all in the FAQ section on the site under the Abrams and STO part.
Nope you are incorrect on this one sir, I respectfully turn your attention to the TNG episode he was a full fledged captain in that one.
True, Scotty was a captain in TNG but there was never any evidence he was captain of the Enterprise as stated earlier. Or he would have said something about it on that TNG episode being back on a ship he commanded.
Scotty states in relics that he was retired and on his way to a planet where he could be alone and live out his days as a captain - Don't remember which one - he never commanded the Enterprise in my recollection, in anything other capacity than when Kirk was off dating green women or beating people up to that music.
Da da da da da da- da- da -da -da -da da da da da da da da da da da
Haven't been able to the Star Trek fight music out of my head for over 40 years now.
I again respectfully turn your attention to the Romulan home world - or the lack of a home world. This game takes place in the altered Time Line.
I respectfully turn your attention to the existence of the Vulcan home world, it exists in the timeline of TOS,TNG etc and STO. It was destroyed before TOS in the Abrams movie.
Romulus was also destroyed in the original timeline, that's the Romulus that gets destroyed in the movie BEFORE Spock and Nero go back in time. Maybe Spock was able to save it second time around in the Abrams timeline and it exists there...
Sorry. The destruction of Romulus takes place in the original timeline so it is not altered. Hobus would have happened either way.
Neros action during the TOS era creates an altered timeline which we do not experience.
Then I have it all wrong - Nero changed the time line when he went back in time and almost inadvertently killed Kirk while he was born - and did succeed in killing his father which didn't happen in the TOS. There is even an episode where Kirk's brother died on a colony world, in the new movie he didn't have a brother because his father was dead, and hence he grew up a rebel instead of a well balanced young man with two parents.
Its not like the usual time travel where your action will change your future. The wormhole tore a hole in both time and dimension and thus created a timeline which exist next to the original timeline.
In Relics he was a captain but where is your proof he was captain of the Enterprise?
I believe he was made Captain of Engineering on the Excelsior, but was never technically Captain of the Enterprise except for maybe 10 seconds when he went on board to boot up the automated systems before he and the crew stole the ship in Star Trek III.

My feeling is THIS is the altered time line.
the time line in which the series and most of the movies take place is called the "Prime" time line. the altered time lines is most of the events of st11.

this is what memory alpha says, but gives no citation except his rank insignia, which iirc were commander pins, and iirc was even called commander scott in dialogue as late as ST6.
but this is one of the contentions i have with memory alpha. :P
The altered or not timeline argument is making my head spin.
In TNG Picard and Data went to the Romulan home world to find Spock - that is the main time line. Of course this just might be an old fan com paired to the new fans or younger fans, the Star Trek I grew up with is the right one! :P

Captain of Engineering? That's normally called Chief Engineer not Captain of Engineering.

Aye they did. But Romulus was destroyed after the events of Nemesis which in turn took place after TNG.

Well I get that, but my argument is the timeline was alterted at the point of Nero appearing. This means that the time line was altered before Kirk was born.

Then in a later movie, Kirk dies.

Funny, they call him Captain Scott in the TNG episode where they find him trapped in a transporter buffer.

This game is set in the original Star Trek timeline. The latest movie is in the altered Time Line.
Romulus was destroyed before Spock went back in time and changed the past.

And Cryptic says so.
the romulan homeworld was destroyed in the prime time line in which all the other star trek movies and series take place.
when this occurred, spock and nero went back in time and due to their activities created the new timeline in which most of ST11 takes place.

just checked memory alpha. i am wrong. my apologies.
been a while since i watched all of tng, watching it again as a refresher :P
