Cryptic - what is your own vision for this game?

This thread is as much a request to the developers, as it is an invitation for all who agree with the topic to sign the thread and help make Cryptic take notice.

I think we've all seen the hundreds of postings on this forum asking for this and that to be implemented in the game. Or asking why something is in the game. Or complaining about where the game is headed.

One thing I've noticed is how little info we players get from the developers about what THEY think the game should be like. We have a little info about the upcoming content patch, but that's pretty much it. And we get the info pretty close to the patch date to boot.

What I, and I do think lots of others too, want to know are things like:
  • What are your long term plans for the game and what content would you like to add?
  • What is the general "feel" that you want the game to have and how will you achieve it?
  • Do you have a "maybe" list of ideas that are getting tossed around, that we can see as well?
  • Are there things you will not put in the game under any circumstance?

I'm sure the list could be a lot longer. I realize that some things you cannot divulge due to business decisions, but there must be something you can share with us. I assume that you have enough faith in your designs and visions for that. It would certainly put to rest A LOT of the bickering and uneasiness on this forum if we all knew what is going on, not just short term, but also long term.

So my plea to you is, show us that you have plans and direction for the game and that we have something cool to look forward to. We players could use it. :)

It would be nice to see a "State of the Game" with some definitive plans to some questions that have been present in the forums. Good question

Cryptic's vision is to put out just enough poorly-made content to keep some amount of active monthly subscribers paying the $15/month.

And, I imagine they hope they can unload the IP for a premium to someone else at a nice profit, as well.

I believe enough people had asked for this several times over and Cryptic still has not responded. There should have been someone from Cryptic taking the info down from when they asked what we feel needs to be done to make the game better, but I haven't seen anything yet. After this past weekends patches it seems playing the game is worse than before the patches were put in place. Someone is not writing code correctly and or deleting things that shouldn't be.

I think in Cryptic terms they'd answer something like this.... We would like to add more content sometime in the next 8-72 weeks. We love all of your feed back but it's all too hard to implement so we are going to make our own decisions and we may or may not let you know what those are before or after they are implemented. The casual gamer speaks and we've decided against adding future raids and we'll continue to add missions for lower levels and more Klingon content!! However you will be happy to hear that we are adding 25 new uniform designs including Kilts, skinny jeans and even some designer clothing. We've also decided to make the difficulty easier, you asked for it we're giving it to you...fighters are now one shotted, cruisers can be taken out with one torpedo and battleships should take about 2!

All seriousness though that is one of my major issues, all these patches with no notes not even saying that it's stability issues, mission fixes...Nothing! The last state of the game was on January 27th. How pathetic is this? First few weeks of the game with so many people bringing up legitimate things they'd like to see fixed or ideas for the future. This is the most crucial time for cryptic to be keeping the community informed and we get absolutely nothing. Are they content in letting lifers cancel their subs, are they content in having people not continuing their month to month subs and leaving a community of people that have no issues with the game and think it's perfect?

Cryptic get your TRIBBLE together and start informing your community of what is going on, as your paying customers we would like to have a bucket list of what you have in the works, short term and long term. You're creativity that you've apparently lacked is being filled in by the stickied thread at the beginning of this forum now act upon it and do something besides hold us over. You think this 45 day patch is going to keep your many end game people happy for another couple months until more is added?

Id really like to know the answer to this. To me it looks like theyre making it up as they go along, like this is the first mmo they ever made.
    Look at the difficulty question.
In OB, it was fun hard. I actually had to get groups to do stuff, because it wasnt possible for me to solo. Like I was playing an MMO.
Lotta ppl complained it was TOO hard, so they super nerfed the difficulty, and made it amazingly easy. Worse even than it is now. Then, people complained how incrediblt easy it was, and they swung the pendulum back in the hard direction (nowhere near as much as it was at first) and called the peroid of time that it was super easy "a bug".
Looks a lot like a knee jerk reaction to me.
Theres a fine line between being seen as listening to your customers and caving to the pressure.
