So this game is going to be on Xbox?

(Edit) SORRY THE TITLE WAS A RHETORICAL QUESTION – STO IS COMING TO 360 FOR SURE!

It’s TBA but that has to be a MAJOR deal. People are posting tons of messages about bugs and lack of content etc.

I'm a hard core PC gamer but the cold hard facts are that the vast majority of money in the gamming industry is now made on consoles. So clearly what Cryptic is making on this game now is just a small fraction of what it will once it is released for Xbox.

I'm sure we are kind of like an extended beta for this game to go to Xbox. I mean just think of the server demand once that happens!

So here are my questions about that...

Its TBA... Any info on when it might actually come out for Xbox?

Will people on Xbox be able to play with people on PC?

If you already bought it for PC can you get some kind of discount for the 360 version?

How much content are they holding back for the 360 launch?

Really? Then maybe you should look at this - http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/startrekonline/index.html?tag=result;title;1

Acording to GameSpot.com it is coming to Xbox. It has been listed as coming to Xbox for over a year. That site is VERY on top of games and if it were not true it would not be listed that way.

There is no mention of PS3. Just 360. And its not "going over", STO on 360 has been in the plans from when the game was first announced.

well, that would explain the dumbed down mechanics and the somewhat limited number of skills available...not to mention the lack of full turn...

    Oh ok, just 360....

how will that work then i dotn have a 360 but i understand you have to pay a sub to get online with it, will you also have to pay a sub to play sto on it, or do you think it will be free to play on xbox as you're already paying a sub to be online ???

More reason to cancel my lifetime I think...

Xbox Live is something like 7€ a month or so ... however, the console jockeys(dont wanna diss anyone here, have a 360 myself) are much more used to paying for content then the PC crowd(lack of modding tools for consoles for the most part).
    anyway, i can see 2 possible scenario.s
    1) F2P with lots of DLC(if they dont improve it significantly they will have to go with that cause PC jockeys are used to unfinished broken MMOs, console jockeys arent that forgiving in that respect ... and you cant just shove a 300MB patch onto a console every week).
    2) Sub Model on Top of Xbox Live Membership...not very likely

I have no idea how it will work. But if people can play it online for free, or that is to say, just with the cost of thier XBL account cost... All hell will break loose! I have a 360 and if this game actually becomes something good I would want to play it on 360, maybe more than PC. I hate FPS games on 360 but this game could actually work well with a controller.

    I think your right...

The 360 version will be similar but completely seperate and free online like all other XBL games. And I bet the 360 version will be a lot better and eventually new content and more content will come out for it and not PC...

You know like GTAIV, Fallout 3, etc...

This isn’t exactly whining. There is a 360 version coming regardless of if you like it or not...

The same was planned for Age of Conan, but that still hasn't materialised yet (excuse the pun)

However if you look at STo, it's not gonna be hard to run it on the 360, it's not exactly full of commands that wouldn't work on a 360 controller..

IF it get approved the fees will be Xbox live + monthly sub and on a separate server system (there will not be PC Xbox player interaction in game). We are not doing a beta test for that. If STO is like CO, there is an fully functioning Xbox version already playable in the Cryptic test labs.

    Short answer:

    Yes, in like 10 years.

    Long answer:

No. first they would have to port CO
Secondly, they would have to decide if console players would be on the same server or not. If not, they would need to make sure money would be coming in for it.
Thirdly, they would anger the pc community if they made 'balance' changes so it was 'fair' to the console gamers if we were on the same server...

    etc, etc.

Age of Conan is also going to have a dual release for the PC/360.
