Could we get a forum that is only open to lifetime subscribers? I know there is a Borg-fleet out there, but it would be nice to learn to know other lifers without having to join a fleet.

Subscription frequencies should not dictate "special considerations" outside of the now-closed early adoption Lifetime Subscriber bonus already used.

Your not special, if anything you guys are lower then us, the monthers. If we all walk, you can kiss STO bye bye. Your money has been spent, you are of no consequence to Cryptic, there not going to work to appease you. They will work to appease the people that give them constant cash flow. Us. The monthers. So you won't get your forum to rub your e-peens about how you all can senslessly waste money.

No just cause you have convinced yourself of your and STO's superiority and anyone elses opinion of the game makes it hard for you to justify your investment, since deep down you know it was a bad decision to buy life, and you want to block that out!....I think not, your in for the long haul suck it up buttercup.

So only people who can afford it? Sounds republican to me. Not all of us have money to spend frivolously.

Oh I forgot. Can we 2008 people get our own forum or server.

Jason, it isn't a waste, and the Lifetime Subscribers shouldn't be held in any form of contempt (just the ones that keep asking for special consideration for having a randomly available $300 in disposable income just lying around.)

The initial cash injection was something Cryptic needed, and I'm glad it seems a number of people took them up on their offer, however, outside of the initial agreement that was made when the Lifetime Subscription was made, nothing more should be given.

*pops bubble* Sorry, but you got what you paid for already.

You are not a special case or any other lifer except for the fact that you belong to the group that will have to keep playing for at least ~2years to get your money out of it / hope STO is online that long. (and pray Cryptic doesn't nickle & dime you silly in the mean time using MTs.)

Actually, after 2 years, people using subscriptions are worth more then Lifers ... how about we revoke all your permissions for the rest of the forums around that time also?

chances are in a few months time youre only gonna have the lifers around here anyway cause nobody in their right mind would pay a monthly sub for this game when they have a choice.

That would be great if it meant we didnt have to deal with all of the trolls around here - there will always be trolls though :(

    Edit: see above

So what if it was needed, in 6-12 months, if this game doesn't get on track, the poor life timers are gunna be all that it left and get the good ole "Sorry gang, servers shutting down in 30 minutes, this is permanent, it was fun!" . And us monthers are Cryptics real cash flow. Without us, you can kiss STO goodbye in 4-6 months, with us we can enjoy 4-6 years, it's really get on our side Cryptic. Lifers don't offer any more money to this game, and constantly asking for special stuff because they can waste money kind of ****es me off. I could have found 1000$ on the street, and I still wouldn't waste that kind of money on a unproven product.

    Jason,

While I understand your point, keep in mind it was offered for a cash injection. Without that investment by Lifetime Subscribers, we'd still have issues with the servers moreso than we do now.

Yes, monthly subscribers contribute the most income, that's all fine and dandy. However that doesn't mean that Lifetime Subscribers ought to be treated like idiots, or scorned for [as you put it] "wasting their money on an unproven product". Point is, should the game continue on to be a good hit, the lifetime subscribers will benifit really well in the end. The rest of us will still be as we are.

The only issue I take is trying to elevate one "class" of player over another.

No, we lifers are not better than you at all. But YOU are not better than us either, so can we please stop demanding special perks for lifers AND stop belittling them as some sort of freeloaders who live on the monthers' money? A lifetime sub is just another method of payment, and you can bet that Cryptic is not going to lose money because of us. Those threads are a huge fail from both sides...

One of these... again? What is it with some people that makes them think they should get everything they want after forking out money to pay for a life-time sub? Ffs, it doesn't make you special. It means you'll be saving money in the long run if the game keeps going (which I believe it will) and nothing else, and you should be content with that. I for one sure as *bliip* am. I knew what I was getting when paying for a life-time sub and I have gotten it and I'm happy.

tl;dr NO! LIFE-TIME DOES NOT MAKE YOU SPECIAL!

(sorry about the caps everyone, these posts just really start to get on my nerves.)

I usually don't get harsh on the forums, but you sir are one serious stuck up P R I C K.

People who bought lifetimes subs help the game in the long run.
People who pay their $15 a month help the game in the long run.

If you ONLY had the few that bought lifetime subs, you wouldn’t have much a game. You should think before you say something that stupid.

The only thing I might like to see is a special forum title, but that's it. That's akin to the special in-game titles for those who registered on the forums way back when. It's not elevating one group above another; it's just cosmetic recognition to those who contributed up front, taking a leap of faith that the game will prosper.

For me the lifetime subscription wasn't so much for my own benefit as it was an investment in Cryptic to help them get a financial jump start. There's no way to simply donate, so that was the best option. If I had to pay a monthly subscription still, I would. Heck.. I'm still paying for WoW and haven't played it for 3 months.

And donors often receive some subtle recognition. I don't think that's uncalled for, or asking for any sort of special treatment.

I'm a lifer, and I really hate how other lifers feel entitled to special treatment, exclusive forums, no waiting queues, and I've even seen some suggest exclusive servers to play on.

I bought lifetime so I could play the game for years without paying anything additional, not so I could stroke my ego or join circle jerks with self entitled people.

I said my hovercraft is full of eels!

The QQ should die down a bit after the first 30 days. All the people who are currently vocally dis-satisfied with the game won't continue paying the monthly fee for it, and IIRC they'll lose posting access to most of the discussion sections.

We don't really need a special forum for lifetime subscribers, IMO.

    "reported" ? LOL

I got an image of a hall monitor asking "where is your hall pass!!"

PS What makes a lifetime subscriber a VIP? Just wondering? Cause I have been looking through all these descriptions of the different subscription types and I just havent seen one with "VIP" as a describing term for them. Maybe you could link it for me?

Why not just race-specific forums instead?

Because we invest in the game upfront and pay for the first stages of development. I don't care either way, but the reaction in this thread is great :p

It's not sensible. Lifers are no more special than montly payers. Lifers do not deserve special privileges over other players. Also give one example of a game where elitism has been good for the community and brought it together instead of dividing it?

Yes, I'm a lifer. And no, I don't think lifers should get any special treatment.

It's not an assumption when there's precedent. I also listed specific examples of the people I dislike that are lifers, I didn't say all lifers are that way.

EDIT: Sorry I'm tired, I read that in a way that sounded like you were implying I thought everyone was like that. Just wanted to clarify.

meh, lot of people used to argue for this in the hellgate london forums. i dont see the need for a lifetime only forum as the regular sub players are the ones that really will be paying for further developement and running costs of this game. lifetime sub payments i would say have mostly been used already in wages and costs already :)

the regular sub guys will be a constant flow of money, whereas the lifetime is over and done with. why should they treat lifetime subs any better now?
