General feedback, probably won't subscribe.

Here is some general feedback from my experience in hopes that devs see it. I've been playing since open beta.

I have enjoyed the pve of STO quite much actually. Biggest problem for me is the lack of missions to level you. When I hit lt.cmdr 6, my next missions were for cmdr 1. When I hit cmdr 6 or so, the next missions were for captain. Seems that in every rank I end up having to grind the defense missions in order to qualify for more missions. Doing all available missions really should be enough to level all the way to the end in a pve game such as this. At one point I thought I'd level myself through pvp but the insane queues shot a torpedo at that idea.

Minor nuisances are the enemy signal contacts. I wan't to be able to put autopilot to my target system, go get a cup of coffee and start the mission. At current state, I come back and see either a merchant dialog saying "sorry nothing for you" or find myself shot to pieces by ganking npcs. Either way I haven't moved more than an inch towards my target. I would love to see the sector space travel uninterrupted, and defense mission spawns safe. If there has to be an overwhelming force waiting in the defense missions then please remove dialog windows so I can defend myself faster.

I have already written about the problems of ground combat so I won't go to much detail on that. In general, enemies have too much hitpoints and do too little damage. Ground combat is easy and dull, it should be somewhat challenging and quicker. Atleast it should require the player to pay attention. I don't bother doing much else than the occasional expose/exploit because everything else makes so little difference.

Tier 4 cruiser turn speed. WTF? Switched to science on Captain.

So in general I have had a nice ride with STO and it's nice game. It has huge potential but as it is I don't see much reason for subscribing. I'll reach the maximum level in a couple of days and move on. To make the game interesting enough for subscribing, it would need to have decent pvp. Not just deathmatch but area control where playing makes difference. More advanced craft / trade system would also give more of a lasting appeal.

Really hope the devs can make this into something big.
