Well, you ARE playing for free. Free month is 30 days from inputting your key; the longest any of us have is 2 weeks.
It is a good idea for a company to give free time when they keep having crashes after that first month of launch; I remember Mythic gave us a couple weeks worth of time, plus experience on a few occasions, to make up for their constant crashes in the beginning. That goes a long way in customer service. Of course, compared to DAoC this has been a flawless launch....<LOL>.
a little free time to compensate for the down wouldn't hurt a bit TBH. We all know bugs/crashes/fixes happen at a launch but for lost time it wouldnt be soo bad to comp time comensurate of down time here and there to keep the loyal masses loyal:cool:.
Oh dear.. and now w're going to get into that awesome debate of 10AM to 12PM = EU Primetime?
Does it matter? Servers have been up FAR more than they've been down, and they haven't been down for 12-hour straight as of yet.
Let me rephrase it for you. 12PM CET till 10PM CET.
Is that better for you to comprehent?
It's easy for you US people to bash everyone outside the US! When the servers are down and crashing when you are sleeping, at school or at work and that they are back up again when you start playing.
But the world doesn't just revolve around you! There is a whole wide world outside the US.
Show a little more respect to your fellow gamers outside the US! Ok?

Just saying.
Okay, shall I be taking apart the fact that you are assuming things, or question the timing issue I'm asking you?
Servers offline for ten hours straight? Haven't seen that happen.
As far as your assumption regarding my time, I work the night shifts, so I play when the EU does. Don't base your assumptions from where I am, but when I am able to play will you, otherwise than you are no better than those "US people".

Yesterday there was a 2 hour+ maintainance and after that the server crashed two times afterwards.
The little time the server was up in between it was near impossible to play due to disconnects, queues, lag and the endless "Server Not Responding" messages.

Which is not ten hours, per the time it was listed.

The server was down more then 6 hours total. Add in 1 hour of dinner (someone has to eat).
Plus the fact that I am not that NO LIFE brainless person that keeps panically hitting the login button for hours straight in the hope the server is up again and able to get in.
So yes, for many the server was pretty much unavailable most of the day.
And what good does it do when the server is up, when you get constantly disconnected and facing "Server Not Responding" messages?

If the server's up, the server's up. If it crashes, it crashes. Should it crash for 12 or more hours total in 24 hours, then I'd consider taking you up on your position of getting some time back for that, but it hasn't. You say six hours, six hours for what? Scheduled maintenance, can't really blame them for that once since we've already had this debate, and both know that patches need to be done.
All free time does is change your billing date, it's not that great.
You have to get 30 days or it's pointless.
If i got 5 free days right now, my billing date moves five days later,.....wooo:rolleyes:
Please explain your rationale? That's five days of service they offer to you, extending your bill date just means you don't pay until that date, five days later resulting in more time for the same price.

Sure, no prob.
Lets say in January, my bill date is the 3'rd. (15$ for jan.)
Servers fail.
3 free days.
February 6th I'm billed again (15$for Feb)
servers fail.
4 free days
March 10th I'm billed again (15$ for March)
servers fail
3 more free days
April 13 I'm billed again (15$ for April)
servers fail
2 free days
May 15'th I'm billed again (15$ for May)
servers fail, but not bad
1 free day
June 16th I'm billed again (15$ for june)
At this point I have played for 6 months and the servers have failed consistently, I have paid the EXACT same amount as I would have with ZERO free days ($90) and my billing date has shifted two weeks.
The only way this actually gets overcome is to get a free month, or accumulate a month of "free days" over time.
I have played WOW for 5 years, and I started on deathwing, it was a bad server as well and I got LOTS of one and two day credits.
My last credit was in 2008, and all together i have had 33 days credited.
So it took 3 1/2 to 4 years to actually "save" $15 on a free month.
It's a sham, straight up. Makes them look nice but has no real substance, until you get at least a month free.
I'm not trying to be obstinate, I was there begging wow for free days too, when I got em I realized what was really going on.

The guy's not asking for a free month.. I don't recall a lot of people asking for free months. Free time is free time, that's it. It does add up over time as you illustrated, but it's still free time, and a gesture of good will more than anything else.

That's exactly what I was trying to say, It's a gesture, but really has no affect on my cost or my ability to play the game.
After wow moved my billing date so many times it was just frustrating, as I budget.

Actually, I'd say he is FAR worst then those 'US people'. Since none of THEM have evidenced the hubris that he has declared they do, or that he himself has shown. And I'm in the same boat as you Freya; I get home at 8am on the East coast so I know what the Europeans are going through with maintanance downtimes. What I fail to see is why some of them must chalk it up to 'hated American arrogance' when no American has shown that here?
If you're finding yourself in a queu, try dropping your graphics settings down and see if that helps. Because most people aren't in queus.

Yes it has. Especially for the European Playerbase!
Pretty much all crashes and downtimes were in the middle of European Primetime.
Yesterday for example, the server was pretty much down from 12PM till 10PM and in between the little it was up, it was unplayable!

I'm going to be blunt with you OP
Other MMO's do this because it's a sham.

Now that budget remark is something I can COMPLETELY agree with.
