Problem *not* solved, as that is what I already have marked. It will redirect you to the splashscreen if you've not yet viewed it this session.
Edit: On topic, what exactly does it bring to the site that the main news/nav page does not? Just a simple annoyance.
Worse yet, I hear that the CO site will be getting a makeover soon by the people that worked on the STO site. TWO splashscreens. I think my world is going to end.
I know what your talking about now. That screen where they try to sell you the game before you get to the main website. I know what you mean. They should just put that screen under a big button that says buy now!. How hard is that.
I was one of those people that complained about co because i almost baught that game but i couldn't find the purchase area and the whim quickly left me. From what I hear of CO they dont let them wear capes so Im glad i didnt buy that game.
Well if you want to handicap your browsing capabilities this way then you get what you ask for I guess.
It shouldn't be there in the first place. Plus, I use a large number of computers over the course of my day, along with a few of them that clear cookies based entirely on security standards (among others.)

Except that to get to the site I actually want to read, then, I have to click the banner up top AND navigate through the irritating splash screen.
You guys are totally missing the point. -.-

It doesn't handicap anything. I know why you keep your system as it is, and I know why I keep mine the way it is.
Neither is a handicap.
Either way, it has nothing to do with the design choices of the Star Trek Online site. Please let it drop before you start a fight.
