Despite being advertised as "Liberated Borg", at the Headstart it was changed to "Liberated Borg Human" and "Liberated Borg Klingon". After thousands of us already paid $240.
Unfortunately, this prevents us from using the full power of Cryptic's character creator. The majority of costume pieces are unavailable to us.
Borg Benzite? Borg Caitian? Borg Orion? Why not?
It would be very simple to unlock all "Alien" costume pieces for your loyal Liberated Borg, as was assumed to be the intention based on your advertising.
Please correct this.
Thank you.
P.S. - Red lasers from the eyepieces would be great. The NPCs have it. Do we need batteries?

On the one hand, there are no Borg as a whole, so giving someone a liberated borg option to any available species would be pointless, as they'd all default to the liberated borg perks, instead of the ones inherant to the species. It was likely easier to limit it to one particular race, so they could iron out the game a bit more, then expand on the fluff features.
On the other hand, I can see your point completely, and I agree with you. Your species would be Liberated Borg (whatever) who would have access to the pasty faced borg nanite texture, the head pieces, and the borg style kits.
Which would be a bit more work, but would really add some hefty customization to the game.

I agree 100%. It was advertised as "Liberated Borg," not "Liberated Borg Human/Klingon." This was a huge disappointment for me. If this is not corrected for those of us who purchased lifetime subscriptions, and the only way to get a Liberated Borg in another race is to buy it from the C-Store, I would feel that Cryptic intentionally misled me.
I purchased a lifetime sub. Still waiting on my liberated borg option for char creation. I don't have it avail in the c-store yet. In any case, they should've just made the borg pieces as additions to the existing char sets with alternative trait options.

It unlocks after you create your first character. Though I suppose you've already done that by now.
Issue with my Liberated Borg BOs - they are female. Both. I'd be fine with one male, one female. But not like that. I don't want yet another 7 of 9 clone. I want a Hugh clone, a One clone, a Locutus clone - or a General Korok clone on the Klingon side.

You have to have had a Pre-Order key entered for STO and purchased the Lifetime Subscription on or before Feb. 1, 2010 before 11:59 PST.
The character doesn't come in the C-Store, it shows up in your character creation screen.
Hmmm I dunno if it is impossible to custom make a lib Borg, I think I might accept this challenge after I get out of hospital. Bear in mind it won't look as detailed as the cryptic one and it certainly won't have the Borg skills. I'll do my best.
You should be able to create a bald, pasty alien with a large eyepiece easily enough.
In an ideal world, of course, your Borg BOff's costume would be available for all your characters... and having access to Liberated Borgs would automatically grant you access to Liberated Borg BOffs.

I always understood that the liberated Borg could only be human. What disappointed me was that my Borg character does not seem to have the Borg traits I thought it would have, so I got the bad complexion but nothing else.

The Borg traits should be there. They just only show up in the stats window when you're on the ground, not in space. I don't know if that's a bug or not.
As for the main topic, I was a little disappointed that there weren't other racial options, but I can deal with it. What really annoyed me is the sheer ugliness of the Borg accessories. I'd have preferred options more subtle like Seven of Nine's eye thing or her arm/hand.
I thought this was a thread about making your own Borg using the in-game character creator.
I actually didn't like any of the "Borg" options I saw in game..so made my own.
Works well IMHO.
I also made an entire Borg BoFF crew using by using generic Aliens.
The "Infected" skin texture works great and you can use it to approximate any Borg look.
Honestly, save yourself a few bucks and create your own Borg...
Yes, it is about using the character creator to make a Borg. I thought said Borg had certain Borg traits apart from appearance, but I thought I had misunderstood. Then yesterday, I saw someone who looked like Borg at Memory Alpha and I asked them if they had Borg abilities and they told me their character has them. Mine does not.

You got what you paid for here, however. Every reference to the Borg BO was female. There was no ambiguity as there was with the Borg PC for the pre-order lifetime subs.

Be nice to have a One clone, then we could have 27th century tech.

I wanted to have a Borg BO but was told that I would have to be the Borg, that Borg BO's were not available.
Later, I discovered that some people, because of where they ordered the game, did have Borg BO's and all I could get was a Borg appearance.
I would like to have a Borg BO and prefer that to being the Borg. I don't care whether my Borg is male or female. Perhaps Cryptic can offer one for Cryptic Points.

You may get that opportunity. The Cryptic team has said some of the preorder bonus items might be available in the C-Store at a later date.

In looks, if not in deeds...

Yea I was disappointed that I couldn't make my character a liberated Borg Andorian but I adapted.

Don't see that happening for a few centuries.
