    I'd say good to excellent.

You have to keep in mind the ENORMOUS fanbase that Star Trek has. If this games dies a quick death I will be extremely surprised.

People are going to say many things both pro and con but the only people who really know the numbers and the numbers they need to keep it running is Cryptic. Anybody who says different is just having an attack of Diarrhea from their pie hole.

    This is the correct answer.

    What he said.

    Our predictions don't mean anything.

Relax. Despite what you see on these forums, the vast majority of STO players are happily enjoying the game. Only a very small percentage of the player base actually read these forums and even less post.

It's a strong IP, so the game only has to be mediocre to be successful.

Yes, it's mediocre. It's casual friendly, with enjoyable combat, but it has its shortcomings. So it will be successful. In time, it may become much better than mediocre.

its gonna be here for 6 years is my thought... I will be staying long as its up lmao... all tho probly take a bunch of breaks...

There are always whineing little kids in these games that want to be payed to play a game or dont want to pay to play it...
kids that want the games to be perfect and everything the way they want...
then the kid next to him or her want it difrent and whine about that...

seriusly this game has a HUGE amount of people that love it... they just dont go on forums cause of all the whiney little troll's.
    its here to stay.

infact the reason the servers go down all the time is cause it has to many people on it... once we get rid of these kids its gonna be awsome... just wait til after 30 day thing... then probly these issues are fixed... or atleast work better.

And actually I agree that they should, if they enjoy it, they should play it, it would go against the sovereignty of the individuals in society to claim what they have to play or what they should not play. However structuring that play with a planned effect does the same things.

    Shrug.

The most ironic thing about creating non thinking followers, is the people that create them have the notion that they will be directing their actions, the flaw in that societal philosophy. More sad then funny when looking at history.

definitely a year if not longer. Hellgate London lasted 2 years before closing and same with Tabala Risa.

I don't think it will be "gone" but I doubt it will have a tremendous subscriber base or be a large player in the market at the end of one year. That may be just fine, if that can fit in Cryptic's goal. Other games that had very rough starts are still "alive" in that sense, even though not many people play them. Just look at Warhammer, Age of Conan, and Vanguard today.
