Well as the thread title says I just cancelled, now before you guys all start asking for my stuff/flaming I will be re-subscribing in 2/3 months.
Right now STO really doesn't have much to do in it, no raiding (as such) no meaningful PvP and just overall no high level content whatsoever.
Having said that, I love STO's gameplay and style - it just simply needs more content added! I look forward to resubbing in a couple of months, please do a good job Cryptic.
This is probably the best "I quit" thread, as the OP actually uses logic and reasoning, and understands that a real assumption can't be made on an MMO right at launch.
Well I guess my main question is how many hours a day do you play? If you have already ran out of things to do, I can only assume you have already reached Admiral. If so, then you also obviously play more than a few hours a day. The problem is NO Dev team(even Blizzard) can crank out content fast enough to give people who play 5+ hours a day something new to do all the time.
So even if you come back in a few months, chances are that if you play 5+ hours a day, your going to be bored again in a week at most. So I'll tell you what I tell most other people in your position: I recommend you adjust the amount of time you play per day, or else your going to get bored with any MMO you play.

Yeah you're right that I could play less, but I play mmos precisely because I want to waste my time! It's not too hard to add a set or two of items that are extremely difficult to get to via PvP, that take a hard grind to get but are worthit at the end.
The carrot-on-the-stick simply needs to be moved further away in this game imo (That is I think it's too easy to level)

This is actually not a bad idea for some players. No MMO launches with all its act together. 12 months down the pike you get a more filled experience.
Whew man! Are we on opposites sides of the coin on that one or WHAT!
I think it's much too hard to level. But then I only get 1 or 2 hours to play a day. I've just now surpassed the point I got to in all of Open Beta and am about to make LtCmdr. Someone who can't play tons of hours (read me) would be likely to quit playing considering how long it takes to LtCmdr now. This is why I continue to believe T1 should be Ensign, T2 should be Lieutenant, and on from there instead of making us go through all of Ensign and Lieutenant before we see any marked change in the game.
I've also noticed that PvP tends to make you level faster. So if you're a big PvP'er then sit back and do the missions and the game will move MUCH slower for you.
To the OP: why did you start this thread? The only purpose it serves is for flame bait.
If you want to send a message to Cryptic (ie: you're not happy so far), do so by canceling and sending them an e-mail or calling them. I certainly understand why you're unhappy and agree with you regarding STO, but creating a thread about this doesn't serve any purpose for the community as a whole.

But you can still give me your stuff, i promise i will return it all when you come back. You can TRUST me.

I PvP a bit but actually I'd have to disagree mate, it's actually faster to do patrols imo.
A single patrol quest will take about 45 mins and will get you about 3/4 of a level - well worth it! A patrol + random episode quest = 1.3 levels (Approx)
Although on a side note, keep going man! That game really picks up once you start getting the new ships and abilities

Actually the thread does serve a point, ever heard of setting an example?

FYI, cryptic never releases a game with high end content. How dare you demand they finish a game before you buy it? I bet you expect the high end content to be released in the next 6 months also? You are asking too much. I think its time you go.

Well, we do have plenty of threads with plenty of complaints already because a lot of people agree with you.
In the future, if you want some casual advice from a stranger, I'd recommend starting a thread about your complaints instead of about your subscription cancellation. Then somewhere in the post you can mention you also canceled your sub. Because if you create a thread about the topic of your canceling and not your complaints, then you're laying flame bait.

Probably the best non flaming non controvesy i quit post and you flame him. All i have heard for weeks from the fanbois is that if you post quitely and without flaming everybody that your post would not be trolled.
I guess you did not get that memo.

I didn't flame him at all. I'm just giving my opinion like he did. I'm not a "fanboy" since I have my share of complaints as well (looked at my sig at all?). Instead of labeling people as fanboys or QQers in an attack, why not post something productive instead?

Thats actually a wrong statement there, I have played EVE for over 4 years and I generally play 6-12 hours a day. I have yet to run out of new stuff to do, now with that out of the way, I will agree that this game will never have enough content to keep a hardcore gamer in fresh missions, we can only hope that they put in enough diversity that we dont mind repeating the raids and such at end game.

What could i possibly say to the op that is constructive besides "see you in a few months" . I for one am actually sorry to see all of these people leave.
They say that the forums at most represent only 20% of the players and if they are right for every one that posts on the forums that they are leaving 4 others leave silently. That my friend is disturbing and we should be yelling at cryptic for the problems not some fan who got disgusted and decided to leave.

Woo Hoo! My plan is working. Thanks for being the first to volunteer!

And what a cunning plan it is! Happy to help mate

Ahahah. Don't go taking me all seriously. Keep your credits, thanks for the offer though
Your loss

Oh, is that what it said? I knew it had to be something constructive but the handwriting was appalling!
I agree BTW, I don't see that the OP was flaming at all. Fair play to him.
