I can't seem to get to improve the graphics in the game, no matter what I do it all seems gritty. It's really ruining the game for me=/

First of all here's my specs:
-Nvidia Geforce 8600m gt(forceware 195.62)
-Intel core 2 duo T8300: 2,40 ghz
-4 gb ram

I've tried changing the settings on my video card, and the graphics in the game, but it doesn't seem to change anything. Any tips?

Be sure it's not in half-resolution mode.

Is that a laptop? The 8600M if I'm not mistaken is a mobile video card. I have the same in my laptop. I am running the notebook build of the 185.96 drivers and it's working fine for me. I've taken some nice screenshots using this laptop.

Mine is the 8400M and when I first started the game, it said that my laptop may not be able to play so did I want to play on lower settings. I clicked yes and WOW the game looks like something out of the 90s. It is so pixelated, I have to zoom all the way in on my ship just to see any details. Is there some way to disable this? I have newest drivers and I turned everything up on the in game settings but no dice.

Try going here. Click option 2, let it scan your system to give you the best drivers available for your card. I've never heard of the site you linked.

EDIT: I did a typo in the driver version I listed it should be 195.86, sorry.
