Am I wasting time at Memory Alpha?

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
Can anyone tell me if going to Memory Alpha is worth my time? I have been there a number of times and although my inventory is full of stuff, I can never seem to exchange any of it for anything. I am always just missing one thing to craft any item. Has anyone gotten anything usefull from Memory Alpha? Thanks

play the game as long as you can

memory alpha is a substitute for the (missing) crafting system... it's NOT worth the time you need to get anything (imho) (if it is working at all - at least it wasn't working in the beta)

Personally, I haven't found it to be worth the time so far, and I don't plan on keeping on with it just to see if it will be worth my time later.

I really am enjoying the game so far. I have had nothing but fun, it just seems like such a waste of time to travel to Memory Alpha and not be able to exchange suff in my inventory for something else.

If you're not playing with a fleet it really isn't worth your time chief. The problems for soloists revolve around the sheer cost in creds and anomolies of getting to the highest rank of crafting.

The money is easy for an Admiral but anomolies take an age. This means you can only really start to make good use of MA once you've reached top rank and are probably going for very-rares anyway (making blue upgrades somewhat redundant).

Then there's the issue of which equipment upgrades are available. The ground stuff is fine but the space weapons are a waste of time. With capped skills, you don't really want to be using anything other than phaser/photon/disruptor/quantums.

I'd save your anomolies if I were you and wait for a content pass of MA. Or join a fleet who have an active crafting group who can help you out at lower levels in return for your stash.

    All the best

    Shox.

It's not so bad if you spend a lot of time in the unexplored clusters picking up anomalies (you can farm them quickly there) or you have a fleet sharing their anomalies.

Also, you can put all the anomalies and stuff you want to upgrade (torpedos or shields or whatever) in your bank and they can still be used in the crafting store without having to fetch them out again.

You are totally wasting your time crafting. I spent 1.2 Mil total from tier 1 and 2. Of course im not in a big fleet to get help with data samples. Untill they at least tripple the crafting content its a waste of time. And by then us admirals will probably have better stuff than what they will be leting us craft.

Only good thing thats comes from crafting, are being the people scalping the commins and data samples needed for crafting. Lucky i spent no more than 10k per item or sample, but it adds up.
