Cryptic: I expect at least two days of compensation for this

This entire weekend has been plagued with unexpected down times. While I understand that a new MMO will have issues in the first few months, unexpected down times during the weekends is just not acceptable. While this may seem petty, if Cryptic does not provide us with an extra two days of subscription for this weekend I will be canceling my account.

While I have many issues with Blizzard, they at least will provide compensation (without even asking) if there are unexpected down times, usually by giving their customers an extra day or two before having to renew their subscriptions. If Cryptic does not do this, I do not want to be their customer as it would be apparent they do not care about customer loyalty at all.

I also suggest that they start explaining the problems with more details than the same generic message we get each and every time the server crashes. Once again, I understand that it takes time for MMOs to become stable, but the slap in the face to their "new" customers by providing no details and possibly no compensation during peak hour gown time could ruin this game before the 3 month mark. Once again, if we do not receive a message within the next 3 weeks stating we are being given an extra two days due to this weekend, I will be canceling my subscription and I invite others to do the same. Companies should not be allowed to take advantage of paying customers without facing severe penalties. Cryptic has a terrible BBB rating and if they wish to remedy that, they need to start right now with pleasing us.

I also want to add that I expect a MMO I am paying a monthly fee for should be playable during peak times on the weekends (when I have time to play). If I cannot log on during a Saturday or Sunday and try several times at different times of the day, I expect the FULL day to be refunded to me. Not this hourly rate garbage. I am not available every hour to play, only when time permits and if at those times the game is not working, then I expect compensation for that day. PERIOD!

    Ultimatums like this rarely work.

Just curious, what compensation has Blizzard given for their two big outages last week?

lol@BBB They're nothing more than a scam anymore. Maybe a few decades ago, they used to represent something meaningful. Now they're nothing more than a pay to play scam.

Server time equates to about 2 cents per hour. How many hours do they need to be down to equate to 1 free day in your books?

Forcing me to read the title of this thread was a waste of my time, and the coersive prodding by said title for me to read the stupidity of your post caused undue mental trauma.

I demand compensation for enduring your idiocy. You'll be hearing from ym lawyer.

Why stop at canceling your sub? Why not take it a step further and rant about how you'll get a lawyer and take them to the cleaners? Why not point out that you live in the EU and their laws will back you up 100% and you'll get a huge settlement from Cryptic (even if you don't, it's the Internet, who'll ever find out otherwise)? And then of course there's the standard "paying to play beta" rant. No /ragepost is complete without that.

Sorry, but as far as Nerd Rage I give this post a 4/10.

You expect a couple of days free for a couple of hours lost... you must live in a very interesting world if you get that lol. Anyway if you whine this much over a couple of down times maybe you should play offline games have fun.

    Also unacceptable:

    - unexpected hurricanes in Florida during vacation season.
    - unexpected lack of snow at the winter olympics.
    - unexpected security alerts at airports requiring them to close the airport and rescreen all the passengers.

Dear Cryptic, while you're fixing the unexpected down time during weekends, could you also fix the above as well? Thanks awfully.

What do you mean all the time? I play every single day from 10 AM until about 3 PM PST and we weren't down a single day at that time all week. Whatever patch Cryptic put into place right before the weekend seems to have caused issues; and all the subsequent patches haven't fixed it, but this crashing hasn't been the norm in any way over the last week. If you're going down at 8 PM GMT you might want to check and see where your ISP is routing through at those times.

but yeah this is starting to get very old, they really should start compensating for this much downtime. or atleast show that there is progress on server stability and not just say so on patch notes.

I suggest that you read the Terms of Use while you wait for the servers to come back up.
