As a lifetime subscriber and HUGE Star Trek fan, I really gotta say you guys need to get your **** together. Right now you are doing a second rate job in developing this game and are doing a HUGE disservice to the Star Trek franchise.

Im willing to overlook the shallowness of the game in hopes that during my lifetime sub it will become something great. But right now, you cant even get the basics down like BUILDING A SERVER THAT DOESNT CRASH CONSTANTLY. You are killing this game before it even has a chance. People are dropping like flies due to your inability to perform the most basic task, server stability.

I have managed mutli-million dollar territories for the largest heavy equipment manufacturer in the world and I can tell you without a doubt the kind of performance your team is putting out would have heads rolling in my industry. I would release the people who obviously cannot get the job done, and find someone who can.

This isnt your little second rate comic book games you make. You are in the big time now with a mainline franchise name with 40+ years of fans and lore. You need to step up to the plate and perform like the big boys of the mmo world, or like I said, find some people that can get it done FAST !

and if your parent company (publisher in this case) was demanding you finish a job before you had time to do it properly so they got some money back you would say sorry we can't do that you will have to get someone else to do the job. Soon be out of work wouldn't you.

Oh I get the point. I see it stated numerous different ways - from eloquently to barely readable - every time the server goes down.

And I might start taking it seriously when the game has been live longer than a month.

Until then, I will continue to dismiss such arguments casually. And just to defuse the potential "fanboy" retort, I'm not terribly impressed with the gameplay or execution of the license, and I don't expect I will stick around for very long. This conclusion has nothing to do with server downtime, which I had expected and will continue to expect for quite some time.

the same applies to starting up to fast, many game companies ended up settling for a piece of the gaming pie but as a business it's not enough to just have a small following, they are out to make a profit but in the end if cryptic can't deliver cause they started before they really should have, it's going to hit them right in the profit margin, so if you were to get a job with a gaming company and you had 2 job offers, one from cryptic and one from Blizzard, it's pretty obvious which one you would take.

Totally agree...these people either have had no previous experience with newly released MMO's or are extremely forgettful.

The "Senior Members" seem to not want to listen to the truth.

The "Senior Members" dismissal. Haven't seen that one before. What are you actually implying?

Cryptic this Cryptic that have any of you considered that they may not have had the final choice on the release of the game. There have been other cases where it was the Publisher who forced the release date even though they knew the game was bugged.

I will remember the " The game hasn't been out a month" excuse and be sure to feed it back to you after a month if this game lasts that long.

The OP is frustrated. The last thing you trolls need to do is aggravate him with flimsy excuses. Keep your delusions to yourself if you don't agree with his POV.

That said, I think the lifetime subscribers are in a world of hurt. I played through the beta and that determined my monthly payment plan with option to cancel subscription. (I'm still not getting my money's worth, but...)

I have played through Aion's beta and release before you trolls through the inevitable, "You mustn't have played any MMO's before" excuse at me. (Difference between night and day.)

    This makes absolutely no sense
. If the game is three months old and it still has these problems, you won't have to argue with me because I'll be agreeing with you. I'll still be right about what's going on now though.

So am I. With these posts.

    Resorting to ad hominem?

Again with the inaccurate ad hominem troll label. I've played through either the launch or Beta (or both) of Asheron's Call, Asheron's Call 2, Star Wars Galaxies, Vanguard, Age of Conan, and this. STO's server stability is par for the course.

Either Cryptic will fix the servers - which they are well aware would be in their own best interest and don't need posters on their forums telling them this - or they won't. Bickering on the forums will not make them go faster, it does add to clutter and make it even more difficult for new players and those with questions to find useful threads about gameplay.

he's a multi-million dollar manager! THAT'S what makes it sooooo important.

get a clue. I managed millions f dollars in equipment, and if i failed in my job the defense of the country was impacted. know what? I still put my pants on the same way. everyone is important in one way or another. some dont feel the need to brag about it

You, as with all who have replied negatively, especially the ones who say the "game hasnt even been out a month" are totally missing the point.

I am not talking about the game. I know it was rushed to complete. I know its going to have bugs, glitches and take time to get content in that we need.

What I am talking about is the very FOUNDATION of a game, the server(s). Cryptic has had closed beta, they have had open beta (where the servers were shown to be lacking without a doubt) and now half a month since head start. At this point, nothing else matters if you cant keep people online. Those at Cryptic in charge of the server(s) have done a substandard job, PERIOD.

    Oh, by the way
1.) I never said I was important or was bragging about my career. I was making a comparison between sucessful companies and second rate performances of others.

2.) It doesnt matter how anyone puts their pants (or dresses) on. If you under perform when millions of dollars are literally at stake, you should be dealt with.

3.) I happen to love the game. Its shallow and overly simple, but those things can be overcome with time and loyal subscribers providing revenue. What cant be overcome is the damage that is happening to our subscriber base because they cant stay connected and are leaving.
