Final Verdict - SUPERB INCREDIBLE GAME - Thanks CRYPTIC!

Just want to post how AWESOME AND INCREDIBLE I think STO is. I have about 48 hrs of Gameplay in less than 2 weeks. Thats the most time I devoted in such a short time to a game. I think the game is AWESOME. LOVE particurally The Storyline (The Undine story is WOW). The amount of stuff to do is excellent... from PvE, PvP, trying to sell stuff on the Exchange (which I sell nearly 1 /2 items a day (THANKS PPL), Open instanced battles, etc. All Awesome ... I hope they do add mini games for Quarks and Club 47, etc.

Also I love that Cryptic is on top of fan wants. We all wanted more Non Combat Missions and BOOM Cryptic said more will roll out later this year. They are also adding respec.

Cryptic INCREDIBLE JOB with Star Trek Online. You guys all deserve awards for your work and dedication.

LONG LIVE THE CRYPTIC EMPIRE ... QAPLA!

Hmmm, I can't figure out if he/she is being serious or sarcastic ???

If You are serious, I'm happy You enjoy the game.

If You are Sarcastic, well sorry You don't enjoy the game, so far I do. I feel like when I was a little snot and got my first Enterprise Metal Toy, hmmm, was it Die Cast or Dinky ??? Can't remember, but it could shoot some stuff out on the front by turning the bridge on top of Saucer section.

Did I cover all bases there ???

Star Trek Online isnt any game. I and many people have been waiting years for STO. Its a awesome game and I just wanted to post that. Is there something wrong with that.

I tell you whats wrong... People posting negative comments, reviews about the game and it all being accepted... the moment someone posts something positive you jump on the guy.

Honestly you people need a little taste of boot camp. You are too spoiled and want everything your way.

Spend a week on Parris Island ... Thats USMC BOOT - and you wont be so much of a whiner

Good to see something different..I like the game too..but it still needs some work in alot of areas though...Its a game work in progress...MMO's were not always perfect in the 1st month when they come out..all have problems...all I can say is the ones who remain patient, will reap the rewards of this game...

I was so excited being able to customize the look of my first ship The U.S.S. Che Guevara.

I acctually took Shots of my screen with my cellphone and sent out msg's to some friends cellphones, just showing how awesome it is.

I must admit i like this game alot also.

Kinda feels like a cross of SFC and Bridge Commander.

And the ground missions have actually grown on me now, i hated them at first, but now they actually play abit smoother I dont mind em.

I'm not really a cynic - I just play one on the internets. Because I can and people will respek me as if I was a badazz. Because getting respek from other anonymous idiots at the other end of 1000s of kilometres of cable is VERY important, in the small picture.

I am also an expert about games. Especially MMOs 'cos I played WoW.

I am also a comedian! Watch me regurgitate the one-liners I heard on the internets! Watch me type "cool story bro!" because I am so "original" that I buy into internet memes.

Who knew that the internet could be such an actor's paradise?

So do you guys think I am cool yet?

Sorry for the snipe, but too good of a setup to pass up the shot opportunity.

Apparently a week on Parris Island seems to lower expectations when it comes to fun.

Showering with 80 other guys at the same time on a daily basis has a tendency to do that.

The OP was a bit over-the-top exuberant but I have to mostly agree. When they add a bit more depth and get the things here and there that are limping STO will largely be the Sci Fi game i have been looking for. I think Cryptic did an awesome job establishing a really solid scaffold for growth.

He is right, though, Corbaer. People are very very whiny. And now, thanks to The Net, everyone suddenly has a voice also. Not just that, the voice is to be heard, of course!

Two things work very well as mandatory - army service, shapes you right up, or at least a retail job for 2 years or so.

The idea of Fun? The concept needs to be kept in check...Some of you are starting to sound like followers of Slaanesh [And don't forget also that Slaanesh is the lamest Chaos God].

Haha...worshiping Slaanesh through desiring MMO excesses....

So nerdy I'd make Slaanesh itself cringe.

i would suggest we start organising trips to this place which gives us all an enchanced STO experience. Maybe it could be a day trip even just? free pass if you buy a 3 month block?

Dude you cant compare VMI to Marine Corps Basic Training. USMC Boot is insanely harder than VMI. I cant begin to tell you the differences. I guess one big difference is that we have recruits who have died on the island, because of how difficult training is. You cant call or leave the island. You cant refer to yourself as I, or me. Everything is This Recruit. Ex. Sir, This recruit needs to use the head, Sir. Sir, This recruit likes chow, Sir. And more difficult is the environment. from 0300 hrs to 0500 you have PT. Then from 0500 to 0530 you have chow (dont fool yourself you only have about 30 sec to 1 min if your lucky to eat). Then from 0530 to 0700 hrs you have Official PT. You cant talk, you cant use the head (bathroom) unless the DI is in a GOOD mood (which is RARE). Some Recruit literally crapped himself cause he was refused head time. Smelly situation rofl. Then you got water. If your lucky enough to get some in your canteen... you only have specific times of the day to drink... pretty bad considering we had numerous black flag days (days when temperature exceeded about 120') Thats pretty hot considering your wearing long sleeve thick cammies, a cover, and constantly in the heat doing Pushups or Sand pit (Punishment). I can go on and on.

Dont get me wrong VMI I bet is hard. Darn difficult compared to alot of training, but it in no way compares to USMC boot camp. Theres a reason Drill Instructors Spit blood and thats to make you a Marine.

I'm happy with the game, past Star Trek games have taught me to keep my expectations low; past experiences with other MMOs have taught me that the world isn't going to end just because of a little down time here and there. I wanted a nice little casual game where I could play for an hour or two and still feel like I got something done.

While I can see where some people are coming from with some of the complaints, I feel that the sheer amount of butthurt is hindering the overall development of the community.

i agree completely with the OP this is an amazing game, sure it needs some work here and there, but i love it to bits, made 1 Admiral already and just started my joined trill Science Officer, and fully expect to take him to Admiral too.

And you know what! when i get him to Admiral i'll roll a tac officer and take him to Admiral, i enjoy this game like no other i've played recently.

I remember one day, waiting in line to get shots, a fellow recruit really had to make a "sit-down head call." He requested permission to do so, and permission was denied. When the Drill Instructor was out of sight, he then proceeded to go behind a dumpster, drop trow, and make his "sit-down head call" right there on the pavement. I still can't believe he wasn't caught.

You know where Marine Officers come from? They have to go through what you go through for 4 years on top of earning a degree. VMI is the West Point of the south, and yes those Cadets go through everything you do.

Edit: Yes I know West Point is Army, I was just making a point
