I'm amazed..

by the huge variety of exploration mission ground enviroments. I've done tons of the things, and i'm STILL finding new enviroments that I havn't seen before. I think they did a great job with these enviroments.

Yet they screwed up the exploration system so bad, it's a shame.

I just finished scanning some medical supplies, after scanning them I get "Flora scanned". Geeze cryptic? Way to ruin the immersion.

Not only that, but ALL of the Borg/Undine missions make no sense at all, and you need to make unique Borg/Undine missions for them.

For example, I beam down to a "Borg Facility" and it's just the same old "Facility" map (which is bugged by the way with the lighting) in 90% of other missions, and it looks nothing like a Borg facility at all. where's the green and black circuitry, the borg alcoves, etc?

Not to mention there's no wildlife at all on the outdoor exploration maps which makes them feel rather empty.

There's missions where I need to beam down and scan some ancient alien artifacts. Sure, great! I say. but they are right next to what look like newly constructed buildings? the heck?

I get the impression that the exploration missions we have right now are just initial missions. My understanding of the Genesis tools is that it allows Cryptic to create additional content fairly quickly. Much faster than traditional development pipelines, at any rate. To me, this means that they plan to roll out new content for exploration, story, and raidisodes pretty quickly. We have already seen the beginnings with the new Borg content, of which rollout has begun just one week after launch.

A little too quickly, with a little too much inconsistancy, methinks. That might just be dust from the 'asteriods' I've been destroying today getting to me, but, meh.

A little quality control would be nice.
