Casual Players haven't hit Cap .....

I was wondering how people have progressed to cap so fast?
A fair estimate of my play time is 3-4 hours a day.
I play a mix of exploration, episodes, pvp ground/ship combat, social, fleet action etc etc.
I have Starfleet LtC6 and Klingon LtC6.
So are the people with max cap hardcore levelers or do they play 10 hours a day or exploters?
:)

Ive been averaging about 5 hours a day, i will be admiral next week i guess at my current rate, AND IM TRYING NOT to lvl doing as much wandering as possible.
The lvling is just too fast.
Like i said in another thread I have never reached endgame in a MMO i get bored.
Lotro was the longest traditional style mmo ive played made it to lvl50 thats not even cap.
And that took me 4 MONTHS less than a month of STO and ill be at cap!!.

Single player game with a monthly fee.
    Its a joke

They play way more than 3-4 hours a day, and they don't focus on two characters like you are doing.

They are not exploiters...they just find the most effecient form of gaining XP...and they grind it out.

I'm pretty casual, trying to play 2-3 hours a day when I can and I'm lt Com. 3

From a casual viewpoint with a full life, the leveling is right on the money for me.

I won't hit cap any time sooner. I made Lt.Commander 7 yesterday. 2 hours a day is all i can give. Also after the recent fix of space encounters levelling will slow down a bit but you won't see a huge difference.

Lt. C. 1 with my three toons. Trying to level up as slowly as possible to avoid the "nothing left to do" syndrome

No i dont cause klingon side has no content ive spent maybee 5 h total on klingon side.
AND I HAVE NOT tired to efficiently lvl infact like i said im trying not to.

Worst part is, if i reach end game in a month and theres nothing to do why will i pay my monthly fee?

Uh.. not really. It's only a matter of time played, not efficiency.
I went through all the missions, did all the quests. And yes, I READ all the quests and got into the story etc.
And I hit cap 3 days ago.

I averaged 6-8 hours a day after classes.

Currently i am in between jobs, i was sacked from my company, but another dept on the same company wants me. So i'll have to wait six months before being elegible again.

And i've got over 7.000 USD in fines from the company for being sacked without just cause so.. livin ok :)

I wake up at 7 am.. play for one hour or so, watch some tv, play for more two hours listening to music, study some, watch some more tv, then play for another 2 hours while watching TV, then watch any of the series i have on my hard-drive then play some more..

I play about 3-4 hours every 2nd day, maybe a little longer on the weekends.

When I play, I just do quests in order from lowest to highest, "episode" missions first, then exploration, then defend/patrol missions.

I started playing in the headstart, and am now at level 41, two weeks later.

I'm not maxed out, but I haven't really put much effort into the game, just playing the missions as they come up.

Leveling in this game is VERY, VERY quick. I almost wish it wasn't.

I'd prefer to have spent 20 levels at each rank, doing 50% episodes, and 50% patrol/defend/explore.

3-4 hours a day and your only LC6? Your just a really slow leveler.
I made Admiral a couple of days ago but then I spend a lot more than 3-4 a day on it. I didn't rush or miss out any content, I did every missions and exploration/patrol I could find and I wouldn't consider myself a powergamer.

Commander(4) here and I play about an hour or two each work night, and several hours each of my days off. I would not want to be one of those who capped so fast. I am enjoying my steady ride towards Admiral, reading and enjoying the content, and taking some nifty screenshots in the process. :)

i play 4-5 hours a day weekdays, and more on weekends, between 6-10 depending on situations

i'm currently Cmdr 8 on my "main" and Lt Cmdr 14 on my other character (wasnt sure if i wanted to go borg or joined trill so gave both a good run)

i'm exploring mostly, taking my time and enjoying the stories in the missions, reading all the text (not just the bit to progress me but the back story parts too) and soaking up the trek atmosphere in game.

hoping to hit captain this weekend, so may be admiral next weekend, or the weekend after :)

Hit cap? .. both my toons are 17 I think. Anyone that hit cap 10 days after a mmo launch plays too much and prob spent too much time in beta.

Not missing much really. We just one shot borg cubes over and over in the defend missions for loot. The missions have 8 kills which I've seen completed in less than 3 minutes.

    I play between 2 and 3 hours per day, I'm COM1 and have a LT 8 Klingon.

Yesterday I spend over 2 hours just promoting, training and dressing my BOs.

Sometimes I go into a batteground and play there for an hour or two, and if it is not completed before I have to log...I lose out on xp reward and loot, but I do have fun.

In the end, I probably should be about COM 5 in the time that I spent. I think leveling is about right for the casual player (2-3 hours per day on average).

I've been playing one character so far since headstart, playing about 3 to 4 hours a day on average and have just hit Commander 4 so I don't think it's levelling too fast for me.

Once I max this one out I'm going to create a Klingon character to try out before more content arrives.

    Commander 5 ... or thereabouts.
I'll play for 3-6 hour spurts...
...but not everyday. Sometimes my work permits me to leave early, other times I'll be on task late into the night.

And last night I discovered ME2 and spent the evening reading the in game codex and getting up to speed with the lore.

    When I hit 45...
...I'll go back and try science.
...or fly around just for fun.
...or spend my time whining on the forums.

Wow, I must be extra causal as I do have four Feds and one Klink, and my Main is only Lt. lvl 8! I play in moderation, about 1-2 hours a day, so as not to burn out. I mean really, what is the rush? Why blow thru the game in a month or less? I never could figure why people do this.....

Actually, I spend much more time on the forum than in game, it's much more fun.

Some of the first Admirals have used lots of spare time and experience (and some unfortunately trickery) to get to their level fast.
    • Spare time: They were often seen online most of the day, leveling.
    • Experience: Playing a lot of MMO's learns that there are always skillsets which weaken half of your opponents and stun a few more so to say, giving you plenty of space to dispose of whole groups rapidly, where as players new to MMO's often take on enemies one by one. The former method ofcourse goes much faster.
    • Trickery: (NOT ALL PLAYERS USED TRICKERY TO LEVEL FAST!) A lot of levels have enemies only on the path the player would naturally follow. A case of 'bad' level design allows for running around the level, over hills and rocks, to get to the objective straight away without battle. A good example is I think Hippocratic Oath, where you run into more then 50 opponents when following the road, or about 8-10 if you jump from hill to hill with a detour. Some better designed levels have enemies spread in the hills also to prevent this, or simply need all enemies be defeated instead of the ones at the destination.

I play between 4 and 8 hours a day I estimate. I am capped, yes, but I always play the level through, because I really LOVE the storyline and conversations the NPC's give me. I play solidly, but all of it and do not click away text, run through levels, etc unless I've played the level before (in example, if making a second character).
