iv only been playing rpg games for the last year or so started with world of war craft
my questions to all of you who have been playing for a while
are the problems with star trek because it is new i started war craft when they were 5 years into it so i find it is well put together and thought out but in just the year i played the made big improvements so is it not to be expected that star trek would have issues and would get better over time
i love the franchise so my hopes are set on star trek online
star trek pulls from a vast base of knowledge already conceived so the developers of online dont have to spend time thinking stuff up the world of star trek has already been put before them
so i say please give it a chance probably a year or better but still if they get it right it will be very rewarding and im not a treky but i believe it will be epic
star trek has traveled across three generations of my family im hoping the game will be as epic

cryptic is working with a icon with star trek just for instance every one has or has had at one time a flip phone cell phone that idea came from star trek the original series
good thing come to those who wait

For one, it was rushed. Most mmos run 5-6 years back time before they launch, this was done in 2.
Klingons werent planned as a playable faction at launch till what December?
Other than that pretty much yeah.

Good god use punctuation... almost as bad as a wall of text!

All MMO's without Long beta's launch poorly. Wow had a HORRIBLE start... no raid content, constant roll backs, and DAYS were there was no server online. Ah... the days of level from 32 to 35 to get a server crash and downtime for 6 hours then log back on to find i'm back at 32...

So yes all new MMO's have growing pains. STO's problem is that they launched too early, they really needed another 3-6 months on the burner, but it's not all there fault, i believe CBS had a due date or something like that.

Enjoy it for what it is, a Star trek version of City of Hero's a great time sink, were you can go "OMG thats what happened to XXXXXX of the star ship YYYYYY in the show ZZZZZ!!!" or even live out your fantasy of killing those klingon / romulan / ferangui / vulcan scum.

Personally i enjoy the space combat.
