As far as I can tell, all the issues I'm having playing STO (rubberbanding, disconnection, and EXTREME sluggishness/unresponsiveness) are related to server lag and disconnection. I've run both the tracert and nettest suggestions, and tried to tweak my firewall settings accordingly. Tracert always reveals a network hop or two that times out, and nettest runs VERY SLOW and reveals numbers well below the suggested levels (the ports run between 50-300K in columns 1 and 3, and <10K in column 2).
I'm wondering if this has to do with my ISP (AT&T); it seems the issue is more on this end than at Cryptic. I've searched the forum for any thing specific to AT&T, and haven't found it. Any other network settings or ideas I can try?
I just switched over to at&t as well. I have not been able to login to the game ever since. That was on thursday the 3rd. Patch 1.2 just came out as well. Is my ISP, the patch, or the number of people on due to the patch the problem?
