Could we please just have a "Follow ship" camera setting?

"Follow Target" is sub-optimal. I just want the camera to stay behind my ship as I navigate.

This seems so basic, I don't understand why it wouldn't be the default setting in a game, much less not included!

Yea I have to agree it would be nice. I for one have had a hard time trying to line up my escort with the target to get it in my 45 degree arc. If the cam stayed behind my ship this would be much easier.

I've been asking for this since the begining of Closed Beta..... I'm not sure why they can't do it, it is real annoying trying to get your next target into view when your camera is looking at the place of the last target you killed..... and don't get me started with the camera in Sector Space,Why can't I look where I'm going???

I Found my original post about the camera .. It was on November 7 ....

I agree but I also think this should be an option on away missions.

Agreed! Away mission and ground PvP camera positioning is horrible... and why in the heck do "A" and "D" become strafe when you have a target tabbed? That is what "Q" and "E" are for.

This game has serious issues that need to be addressed, but where is Cryptic?

    Crashing the servers it appears...

I think if we can have "Follow Target" why can't we have "Follow Avatar", or "Follow Ship" and "Follow Character"?

There should also be a way to toggle between "Follow Target" and "Follow Avatar".
I think these options would make everyone happy ....

    ONLY as an option.

follow camera is the WORST type of camera for any game, how on earth do you maintain situational awarness with the camera stuck behind your avatar? i turn it off immediately if it exists in a game. i already know what my character is pointing at, i dont need my vision stuck behind the character as well, rediculous.

however i don't play escorts so you probably would use it as a tool to line up tiny firing arcs. so if anything as an option only and definitely not 'default' lol.

Well I want to see where I am going to. If I turn my ship around and am going to somewhere else, I don't want to look where I came from. This is so obvious and very game breaking.

Its depressing no one has already answered your question, pointing there's three camera settings.

    Chase camera (AKA: follow ship)
    Follow target
    and Free camera.

I think its under Options>Controls. There's a drop down tab, near the top of the list (about option 3 or 4).

Oh and to look around and keep situational awareness, you do it like you do on the ground, Right click and hold.
