A serious proposal for Cryptic

The current state of the servers is causing a lot of negativity among your customers. Here's something that might help. Give every player a free day of play time each time your servers crash (outside of scheduled weekly maintenance). From a player perspective, it shows that you care about their game experience and want to keep them as a customer. It also provides an incentive for you to resolve the issues with your servers in a timely fashion. Think about it....

I have not had a big problem with server crashes and maintenance. I play a good 8 hours a day on weekdays and when it does crash its usually only for 10 minutes or so. I'm not on much on weekends so maybe its different then.

omg, did you just offer to put Cryptic in a time-out for bad behavior? You're just lashing out and trying to punish them for having technical issues. They're gonna happen no matter what game you play. If you want to play with no issues at all, better stick to minesweeper. Or notepad.

    1. You are not paying for the game for another 2 weeks, so they would be losing money if they added on an extra day where you could be paying.
    2. Server downtime is a regular occurance for a new mmo, while they work out the bugs and fine tune the system.

    Think about it....

    Think about it....

First, I paid for the first month of play when I purchased the game. It is not "free."

Second, it's not certain they would lose money if they offered free time. After all, by your reasoning, aren't they already offering a "free" month anyway? What's a few more days. On the other hand, customers lost are seldom regained and that is money lost.

Third, the period to work out bugs and fine tune is called "beta." I'm not paying to play in beta.

And please don't give me the TRIBBLE about "every other software company." The only reason they can get away with doing that is because you let them do it. The industry will change to meet the demands of its customers. If the customers don't demand more, they'll never get it. They certain won't get it with the likes of you running around providing excuses for them.

And yes, since I have already paid for my first month of play, I'll try to get my money's worth. If the game hasn't improved drastically after the first month, I doubt I will continue as a paying customer. I'm not being unreasonable here. I just expect a reasonable amount of service, and they are currently far from meeting my expectations.

BTW, who do you work for? All of your posts seem to make excuses for this game. You work for Cryptic? Atari? Do you have friends or relatives who work for them?

I have to agree with everything that was said here.

Actually if you read the TOS you would know that whatever state the game is in you accept that. So I don't care if it is bug riddled which this game is not. It does have bugs but believe me there is alot worse. You accepted it so get over it. Beta is not the only time bugs are fixed. Your posts really do show that your not a very experienced MMO player or else you would know that patching one thing could break something else. And seeings how there are 1 million subscribers they all do not have the same computer so they could patch one thing and break it on another machine. The price for playing MMO's is understanding that there will be frustration, there will be lag, there will be downtime/maintenance times and there will be bugs.

Plus that 1st month you said you paid for? You did not. Do you think building this game was free?LOL I mean come on the Star Trek trademark alone just to use it must of cost them a fortune. They give that first free month so people can see if they like the game and fix bugs and such. Believe me they dont have to give it they can say TRIBBLE you your paying from day one. But we are fortunate that we get that 1st month.

As you get more experience in MMO's you will come to see some of the downsides and learn to live with them. And if you say you are experienced then stfu you know better...........

like I said in another post about people like you,

so after 15 years of MMO experience, yes MMO's have been out that long if not longer. Newer technology, Newer hardware, Newer programing, and you still allow MMO's like Cryptic think its ok to release a unfinished product? People like you allow this TRIBBLE to happen.

if you ordered food at a restaurant with your friends, and they did not get what they ordered and they started to *****, are you going to stand up for the restaurant too and say, hey give me a break, eat the stupid thing wither you like it or not.

Stop defending companies you claim you do not work for. Stop telling people to stand up for their rights. Its their money, They can ***** about it if they like to because some people like to get what they paid for, not a half TRIBBLE pile of ****, hell they forgot to develop the smell for this ****, not enough content!

so whats your excuse now chronykle?

Yes because anyone who tries to disagree with you or tries to use common sense is working for Cryptic.

Also, 30 days are not over yet. Such decisions to grant free days as compensation happens only after free month is over and depends what percentage of population was effected by server issues.

I was given 2 weeks of free time by Blizzard but i was done only because the issue was very widespread and i couldn't even managed to log in and stay in game for more than 5 minutes.

    is your problem that serious?
