well made it all the way to admiral 5 have the same 3 missions everyone else my level has that are still broken some from beta and the 1 daily. is it just me or did cryptic TRIBBLE the pooch when they brought the game out probobly 6 months to a year before they should have. didnt have enough content for a full month of play and then let us level to max level in under a month. i mean in all the other games eq, wow, uo, eve, daoc and a few others i wasnt bored and max level in under a month with out realy trying. now i would work on there sorry excuse of crafting if the main items werent drops and the prices controled by greedy players. i mean im not going to pay 100k for a mk VI white item which you cant even sell the blue you buy with it for that much. i realy feel that all of us that payed for a life time membership are going to loose when this game shuts down in probobly 3 months or so.
I just turned 45 last month, and I'm not bored in life. I expect to have many interesting years ahead of me. What? You mean game levels? Oh. Sorry for interrupting.

General 5 on the Klingon side for almost a week...then after realising that the content patch mostly was Fed side only started leveling a Fed...now Commander 8, so Admiral in 2 days or someting like that...theres something seriously wrong with the content of this game...
If I were in Cryptics shoes, I would half the amount of Exp you get throughout the whole game
Goes down in 3 months lol, can you see into the future then?.
Seriously go play something else if your that bored, nobody is forcing you to stay here.
Look, the man has a legitimate issue. Stop telling people to quit. We are all better off if Cryptic understands that the limited play time of the game is a serious issue to the longevity of the game.
I for one, don't like the idea of playing alone in a few months. I want people to stay and make a vibrant community. So lets keep poosting these problems and maybe Cryptic will understand there are certain things that are essential to game longevity- and one of them is a challenging gameplay and an endgame.
I guess Cryptic should have done an incremental level roll-out ... 25 this week, 35 next week, etc. until all the planned content is rolled out in a month. At least you wouldn't have been bored with repetitive mission running in your race to be max level.

Can I just ask ... did you ENJOY playing 99% of the time? Or did you just feel compelled to Level Up because that's what your 'supposed' to do?
And if you paid for lifetime, why are you so keen to get through the game in the space of just over a week?
Surely you realise the developers will not be able to keep up at that rate. And they would be stupid to try and do so.

I enjoyed 100% of the content. Fast or slow it doesn't matter- you level up by doing the mission series and really there's not too many ways around it. It's about 3 to 3.5 days of played time content- and zero endgame.
That's going to be a serious problem going forward if it's not addressed and soon. People will hit the cancel button and not come back until the game is heavily expanded- and that's a problem.
Why?
Because as revenues drop, that will leave fewer dollars on the table for Cryptic to invest back in the game in the form of staff and man-hours. Also a business is less likely to invest in a game if they think there might not be as much profit in it.
Don't encourage people to quit, you're shooting yourself in the foot- encourage Cryptic to make a better game.

Glad to see some people like yourself see there is a problem. The OP is 100% correct in alot of what they posted as there is just to little content and the tiny amount at end game is almost pontless and not worth doing due to the TRIBBLE skill cap.
STO shipped with only 87 quests in the whole game and alot of those are just rehash's of each other. As a long time MMO player who has played everything apart from EVE and the Asian grindfest MMO's I have never been at a MMO's endgame as fast as I have with both STO and CO which both happen to be made by Cryptic.
All the Cryptic suck ups need to wake up and stop with the "glad to see you go" TRIBBLE as a lack of players = lack of income = lack of money for Cryptic to use to make STO a better and long lasting game. I really hope Cryptic learned there lesson with CO, a game with a very low population and not doing as well as it should be.

The games you mention have all been out for a long time, and have played all of them. They have had time to grow. STO was released less then 2 weeks ago. It takes time to work out bugs. After bugs comes future bugs, and added content. More will be added. There always is.
Can we stop all the cryptic fanboy nonsense now please ? If it was not for people complaining about cryptic trying to take money for a content patch for champions online we would have to pay money for something that should be free.
Absolutely nothing good comes from you trying to defend something that can´t be defended. A complete lack of endgame content for an mmo these days is not acceptable.
Absolutely right Inviegle. You can kill a game though only talking bad about it.
STO seems to be a game for people like me, for casual players with limited time to play and the search for a little fun after returning home from work. Everyone that compares STO with for example WOW has not understand how games are developed today and what kind of customers they are targeting mostly. WOW at the beginning was a time-consuming game. Endgame was hard to achieve, lot of time was needed to gather items, farm your stuff for crafting, e.g. Look at WOW now - less farming, less crafting, some achievement hunting, but the game itself is available for casual gamers with less time, as you can get your high-level items with simply having 2 or 3 smaller daily dungeon quest made.
Thats how it is with many games that have been released to public during the last 2 years. Name me wrong, but I personally think that Cryptic has designed STO for casual gamers more then having their focus on the hardcore players that create their life around the game.
You PLed past all the content, and now there's no content.
The fact of the matter is that he, me and many others are already admiral. "Past all the content" equals to having completed all the content. Which equates to the game only having 4 days /played worth of content (maximum - if you don't dawdle, it's less), which frankly isn't all that much in an MMO even at launch. It wouldn't be any different if a person reached admiral in, say, a week from now (hardly a fast pace for many "serious gamers" - I mean, factoring in headstart we've already had 17 days to level = about 5,65 hours play time per day), he'd still be just as much out of new content to explore. And mind you, even in this 4 days of /played, most of the content was generic and repetitive. Kill 5 squadrons, yay!
That's not to say that I haven't enjoyed it overall, but there really needs to be more unique, new and interesting things, soon. It's a game with a monthly fee after all. If you can't provide enough content to match, make it a weekly fee
Man has a real problem, suggest if you'd all spent less time trolling forums, you'd be in the same boat. I'm using a 10day trial, and find myself zerging through the game. Why buy at all if I finish the content IN 10 DAYS?!

If the people who quit, like the OP, paid for a lifetime sub then there is no lost revenue if they opt out for several weeks, months, or years. People who pay month-to-month are probably a volatile demographic across all MMO's and that's likely figured in to the $15 per month charge. What I'd be more concerned about is the subscription status of the three and six month recurring membership plans; though even there I'm sure there are hedges built into billing scheme to allow for some, but not mass, exodus in the short term.
You PLed past all the content, and now there's no content.
Congratulations, you won the Internet.
hey so your one of the little nartzy f#$ks on the irc sto cheannel were you cant say wtf with out getting banned from it.....bunch of wa$%kers you got moderating that.....no wait bunch of little kids.
I've owned and run successful businesses all my life and I can tell you the road to success is not telling your customers how they should use the product (i.e you are levelling too fast), but selling them the product they want.
Silly. I made amiral 5 yesterday and cant wait to level a new caracter. later on with guilds fighting, raids gonna be great. and all the new expansion matirial that will come in the years to come. maybe a playable borg side like the klingon maybe one time in a month month a borg caracter could take his big borg ship and invade sol system of somthing like that. if you are bored i guess you dont have mutch sense of exploration .

allright, so what should a player do now at Admiral/General 5 in your opinion, apart from the daily quests? theres just NOTHING to do...and I mean NOW and not after the mysterious wonder patch that gives tons of endgame content, 2 playable races and cures cancer
The fact is that the people are not saying "the endgame content is badly designed" or anything like that..they say (and are right in that) that there isnt any content at all !!!

The fact that they were pushing the lifetime subscription fee so heavily worried me, and now it's coming to fruition. Cryptic does not have a good record with giving customers high quality products as promised. COH/COV never became what was promised and playability was extremely limited at endgame. We all know about Champions Online, and now we are faced with the same situation with STO. Now that they have our money, there is no motivation for them to improve the product.
This will be the last Cryptic product I buy. Although I'm sticking it out here for a bit longer (the combat engine in this game is so good is why), I won't take the plunge again on a Cryptic product, and in all likilhood when Cataclysm comes out, I think a large chunk of the player base here will migrate back to WOW if they don't get things rolling here.
That could prove disasterous to any kind of real MMO action here too.
I love all the people that have not hit end game saying there is plenty of content, there is no problem, and if you dont like it then quit.
The speed at getting through the content has NOTHING to do with the quantity.

Sucks to be you power leveler.
If you play fast or slow it is not going to change the lack of content lol.
Just because you're slow, doesn't excuse the fact that there's little to no endgame content.

Can i have your stuff?
Go QQ elsewhere.
HAHAHA.... this is not WoW, we do not "Craft"
Goodbye and good luck
It maybe a little short to level up but I haven't played the game that much since it went live and I am still only LT lvl 6.
So someone must be putting some hours in? I have a work and family life to deal with so for me the leveling system is fine

I'm not completly bored with the game myself but i have heard from over 60 people so far that are.
